'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

We weren't on this kid until the new coach started...:cool:for Butch on this one

I believe our chances are very slim. Auburn still has the inside track, and they now have Rodney Garner who is very good at reeling them in.

Gardner didn't give him the time of day while he was at UGa, but know he wants to be all over him to come to Aubby so he can coach him up? He's good no doubt, but that sticks in a kids mind, when a coach doesn't even offer him, switches jobs and now is all over him like white on rice.

Actually I live in Kennesaw, and Lawson lives way out east in Alpharetta which is about an hour from Kennesaw. And I've made the trip to Knoxville many, many times in my life and it has never taken 3 hours. I almost always get there within 2 hours and 20 minutes without speeding.

I think your clock is broken. I seriously doubt you do it in that time without speeding. It routinely takes me 1:45 to get to Chattanooga from Kennesaw and another 1:30 to get from chatt to Knoxville.

I live in Cartersville and I can get to Knoxville in 2 hours. So add the 20 mins from Kennesaw to Cartersville and its 2:20 from Kennesaw to Knoxville. I can't say I don't speed though.

Then you must be going the wrong way. I make i from Atlanta to Knoxville in less than 3 hours all the time.

Jeez, all you guys make it to Knoxville a helluva lot faster than we do. Of course, we live in South Florida...

I have faith that BJ can reel him in this weekend. Look at what he's already done with getting kids to actually visit TN when they weren't even considering us before. He's made a lot of inroads already in what little time he has been here and recruits are excited because they like this staff so much better.

Ahh I bet you take 411. I can't do that because I usually have to go to Chattanooga to pick stuff up on my way. I can see how you could make it in 3 hours on 411, but no way you could on 75

Is this a transcript of a lost episode of the californians? It took me 2 hours and 20 minutes to get through all this travel crap.

Yep, I've made it from Acworth, which is just north of Kennesaw, in less than 2 & 1/2 hrs fairly easy

This is blatantly over-exaggerated. Garner, and more importantly Todd Grantham, were slow to recruit Lawson because he absolutely does not fit Georgia's 3-4 defense schematically as a DE. One of the reasons why Garner took the Auburn job is because he has spent his entire career coaching DL in a 4-3 scheme, and there was some tension with regards to his relationship with Grantham and his 3-4 defense.

Carl and his family are smart people. There is no animosity with Garner with regards to his recruitment at Georgia. It had nothing to do with anything "personal".

I've been thinking the same thing. we may or may not hav
e a top 15 recruting class this year , but CBJ and staff definetly know how to recruit. the future is so bright, i gotta wear shades

came in here for Lawson updates, but I can now throw away my GPS thanks to all the travel info in here...

If you think it's travel info, Freak obviously hasn't shared the code with you. It may sound like travel info, but it's all about Lawson. We have to encode some things so the trolls from other teams don't understand what we're saying. So far, it sounds good, but Sam likes to throw in a little negativity.
