'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

I agree and I'm damn tired of pandering to 17 year old kids that don't bleed orange. We have the best facilities, academic resources and rabid fan base out there. After they visit if they still are "confused" or "indecisive"...skarew them! We need kids that see this place and are blown away and would give their left nut to be here! If AK wants to be 3rd string and/or redshirt at UA or UGA...BYE BYE.

These 17 year old kids have earned the right to choose where they want to go, most of the time it is where they feel comfortable the most. What's the point in getting all excited because they choose to go somewhere else?

This. Some fans here are morons they think we should pull the top 2 backs in the south after going 5-7 the last two years

I agree. Sure it is dissapointing to see these kids go to other schools especially teams we play each year. However, this is the nature of the beast in recruiting. As a fan I bleed orange, but these kids want to do and be the best. Loyalties are few and far between in 17 year old kids. These are the same kids that we were at that age, except with technology it has been come easier to be indecisive. We will finish strong, but I think we need to be aware that these kids are not 45 they are 17...

He's not coming to Tennessee. Let the thread die. I would much rather see RB's threads who are actually considering UT to be toward the top. JMO

I get the kid needs to go where he wants to go ect. However, I am not thinking AK should or has to go to UT. I just can't understand with all the backs (something like 8 at UA), why he would want to go there as well. Competition is one thing but there is a reason why some of their RB's end up transfering. I do think because of this is why he will go to UGA. Home state school that has had success and have talented backs but no where close to the numbers at UA. One play away from playing for the NC and winning the SEC championship. On the other hand, things can change quickly in CFB. UT almost beat UGA with CSS and CDD. At that time, some UGA folks were wanting CMR out the door. These kids really should pick and look at what SCHOOL they want to be at for the next few years.

Education is not what we hear as much as NFL. I wish we could go back to the day that getting an education with an opportunity to play NFL was the order of the day. This would be a better perspective.

There's a new precedent being set in CFB. Alabama is disrupting the pattern. It's starting to look a lot less attractive to go to a premier program that needs immediate help. It's looking really prosperous to go the route of Alabama where you can ride the pine for a year, backup a starter for year, be a star for a year, and then go pro with very little wear and tear on your body. Guys like Lattimore are showing what 3 years of college starting can do to your body before you ever get the opportunity to get paid for it.

For us, all we see are the 3-5 years a player is here, which is ultimately where our concern begins and ends. It seems obvious to us that a top tier player should WANT to come here and find immediate playing time. From what these guys are seeing now, that may be unattractive. They have to look at the bigger picture and, for now, Alabama has the best path to success for that position.

God, I hate Alabama.

Makes sense.

:hi:

I feel Green's potential is a bit limited too. Don't know really what he can do better besides being assertive. I don't think his vision is the best and for a big back he's as you stated not a very physical runner. You can't just make a kid love contact. Runners his size should seek contact or shed tackles better. In the SEC a kid like Kamara would thrive because the creases aren't big against good defenses.

The #1 back doesn't like contact. Man you guys are reaching.

I said earlier that I won't hate on the kid. He has earned the right to play where he wants to. We as Vol fans have earned the right to not give a sh!t about him too. I don't wish him any ill will. I hope he has atrocious games against the Vols but other than that I couldn't care less. He is totally irrelevant in my eyes.

What I do care about is having threads of the players that are not interested in Tennessee cluttering up OUR recruiting forum. This thread needs to be killed or moved to the NCAA forum because it in no way pertains to the VOLS.

I agree with BB' assessment on Green. One of the main reason UA never went after him. The same I feel about Marshall. The reason Marshall only got 6 carries against run stopping teams that you have to make contact against to gain yds when UGA played UF and UA this year.

And in BBs defense he has always said he preferred Kamara over Green.

I agree, these kids pgive their all on the girdiron for years to earn schollies from major schools around the country. Some kids aren't as interested in immediate playing they want to go to winning program. Right now UT isn't there yet but win Jones starts winning and shows these kids that UT is heading in the right direction then things will start to change.

There will be kids that do however want to come in and get the ball rolling for UT and those young men will be special to VOL nation.

Boy aren't we lucky Bama didn't go after him. Whew.:swoon3:

It's absurd. Guys like Kamara are going to play for that penny pincher of a coach who literally looks upset that he just won his 2nd consecutive NC. It is baffling.

Maybe because he's more likely to win a NC than any other team. Cry all you want Saban wins. I hate Al just as much as the next Vol fan but give props when its do. If the kid wants to go so be it our time is coming.

Since he's not coming to Tennessee, I am fine wih him going to Georgia or Alabama. All he will do is pad their class rankings. He will sit on the bench at those two schools as they will continue to recruit other backs over him for the next few years. He would be starting at other SEC schools. Wish he would have come here.
That's funny considering half of you all said he was better than Green. I suppose he sucks now. So petty.

He has 3 crystal balls in the last five years we have one dusty one from 98. We spend alot of time cracking on a Guy that's laughing all the way to the bank and history. We have become some pretty petty fans.

I don't see anyone cracking on him. I respect him for what he's done. Wish our administration would get serious about athletics and buy us some championships as Bama has. Given that, it doesn't mean we can't hate him.

Hating all things bama is not "petty"...its a way of life.

Because people do not agree with you does not mean they are less informed. It is a simple matter of a difference of opinion on how he would be used at different schools. I continue to say he would be a big impact at other SEC schools, I just think he will make less of an impact at Ga and Bama. We simply disagree.
Because you have an opinion doesn't mean you're right or even objective. Its obvious to people that you're pissed he isn't coming and you lack the objectivity by saying he will ride the bench. Why not be honest and say you're pissed and hope he fails as opposed to saying he's riding the bench. You don't know that.

Barring injuries, he will ride the pine for at least two years at either UGA or UA. He's not going to just walk in and bump Yeldon or Gurley.

What the hell are you talking about? I'm not pissed about anything. I gave my opinion, could it be wrong? Yes, do I think I am wrong? No. But, again, that's my opinion.
I have no hate towards Kamara and none of my posts show any hate. You read one post and concluded that I have secret hate for Kamara.
Bravo to you sir.
I'll say it one last time , I think that Kamara would be a starter for any SEC team not named Bama and UGA. There's some serious hate right there.......
