Weekend visit just ended, Bell not staying for the basketball game. Visit went well, no news really yet.

I think that it is good for us that he did not stay for basketball game. If he did it would tell me that he really is leaning to going there. I know him not going could be he had to get back home, but staying would have said a lot about his interest imo.

Can't summarize, but this seems like good news for the home team...Go Vols!

I like that he didn't stay for the basketball game. I know Bama will be a good sell, but we got the home field advantage, he rooted for Vols all his life. The facilities are great, and Butch isn't Dooley. Plus, he's closer to home which seems to mean something to most of these guys.

I think we have a good chance here.

Ohio state is very well known for its college strip down high street which turns into short north. it is very populated and a short walk from the basketball stadium which is on lane.

I say all of this because if he was enjoying his time there there is a lot to do. the strip blows ut's out of the water....the people suck though.

him not sticking around makes me tend to believe he did not feel at home there.

Playing in the SEC and being close to home vs. playing in the 2nd or 3rd best conference in the cold with snow and ice in the North, miles from your family is a no brainer.

Columbus isn't that cold and some of us would just as soon deal with a little snow as rain during the winter.

Columbus averages 28" of snow annually and Knoxville averages 11" and that is usually covered on 2-4 occurrences. Ohio is freaking cold!

Sure it is. Why would he want to play for a team that might be in the BCS NC next year?

I haven't seen one quote from Vonn saying that distance is an issue. If there is, could someone find it?

Fwiw, ov's can not exceed 48 hrs, he was never going to stay for the game after learning what time he showed up friday.

“They are on their way home,” Mariakis said. “I heard from them about five minutes ago. Vonn had a great visit – I knew he would.”

Bell made the trip to Columbus with a number of his family members including his father.

“I talked just now to (Vonn’s) dad,” Mariakis said. “His dad is going to come to the school tomorrow and fill me in on everything. But they said it was a great visit and they had a great time.”

“I think he will go all the way to National Signing Day now and announce then,” Mariakis said.

Unfortunately Bell had to get on the road and head home before the Ohio State-Michigan basketball game started. I am not counting the Buckeyes out, but my feelings have not changed. This will be a tough battle for the Buckeyes to win.

Once he puts that Tennessee Orange jersey on on his visit all those old memories he had of EB will come back. He'll walk out in Neyland and his decision will be made. :)

Because if they happen to get there they will be pounded and embarrassed once again by the SEC.
