Up last will be the nearby Volunteers, Tennessee being a school at which Bell has many friends. He insists the disappointing season will not have an effect on his decision.

“You can play good football at any program, so you just have to weigh the pros and cons of each option and take it all in,” Bell said. “I am really excited to see what Butch Jones brings to Tennessee, because he is talking a big game. He had a good season at Cincinnati, so we will see what happens when I go down on my visit.”

Bell says he will make his decision sometime right around signing day.

Great news!

Just read something my bama frien emailed
Me from Andrew Bone who covers bama recruiting. Bone says Ohio State is likely the only threat. This is from dec 26th ( just now back to work today)

Edit : bone says OSU is likely the only threat to bama.

Lol.

Please be a Vol. Would feel pretty good to land this guy on NSD over the likes of Saban and Meyer. I would enjoy that.

DO WORK, BUTCH!

COME HOME, VONN!

Bone for the most part just speculates and most die hard UA fans that follow recruiting put very little into what Bone says. So I would not worry about Bone regarding Bell.

i agree that UT has a much bigger shot with Bell than all the writers are saying.. but Bone is almost always on the money. He predicted Landon Collins months and months before a single other writer said we had a shot. Several kids have said in interviews they told Bone of their decision weeks before it went public because they trust him. I know 247 subscribers bash Bone now that he is with rivals but I follow recruiting as close as almost anyone and I have learned you can usually trust Bone.

and back to Bell - most agree that if he announced 2 weeks ago it was Bama.. but now UT is definitely changing things. i noticed some other neutral writers are even picking ohio state now. we will see...

Alabama and OSU are the favorites and it would be a clear failure on their part to let a newly hired coach of only a few weeks to beat them for this player. Jones is just the son of a cop who coached at Cincinnati. Meyer and Saban have 24 wins this season, only 1 loss and 5 NC's between the two. Again, Bell going to Tennessee would be an epic failure on their part.

Dumb.

Jones is a proven winner everywhere he's been, including 4 conference championships in 6 years as a HC, and he's out there outworking many coaches on the recruiting trail. Pay attention.

CBJ's career looks a bit like Urban Meyer right now. Winning wherever he goes, runs the spread, finds good ball players, and he can motivate a team to play. He's finally gotten a big stage to do some damage on. I'm backing him to the fullest. He's working well for us and talking big(Championship talk) which is what I want. Pulling Bell and Lawson would be huge for this class.

Urban's dad was a chemical engineer and Nick's dad ran a service station and Dairy Queen in rural West Virginia. Since we are talking about things that don't matter.

Also, through my vast research on the topic, I've just discovered CUM was drafted by my favorite baseball team and is also my fraternity brother. I'm going to go vomit now.

The part about CBJ's parents jobs is completely irrelevant. The latter statement is 100% correct. Four out of six is very impressive, but to act like that is remotely comparable to Meyer's or Saban's achievements is....
.

I think the point is that Saban and Meyer started out places other than LSU/Alabama or UF/OSU and that CBJ has a career trajectory that closely approximates Saban and Meyer's accomplishments before the national championships. I agree that Saban and Meyer can go into a living room and sell national and big conference championships whereas CBJ is not there yet. Still, CBJ has won everywhere he has been and I hope and believe he will win here. I think Meyer was selling his accomplishments, including a BCS bowl with Utah, when he came to UF and that worked out well and it is up to CBJ to get the players and fans to believe he will win here, just like Meyer convinced players and fans.

Actually wrong on LC. Atleast at the end because Bone was called out for his so called inside info at the Under Armor game last year. Two days before LC announced two recruits(one an LSU recruit) were talking and Bone was listening in(easedropping). The LSU recruit said that LC told him he was going to LSU. Bone quickly tweeted that he spoke with someone that said LC told him he was going to LSU. And Bone ran with it along with the female writer( Laura ?) for Fox up to the announcement that LC was going to LSU. He got blasted on twitter for it and how he got his info to the point he was defending himself for it.

Bone for the most part barely goes out on a limb and will usually never say anything that is not already out there floating around and the others that have legit inside sources have already stated. But last year he blew it big time on LC at the end. Now that he has changed sites he seems to be better but makes less predictions as well.

Redfish and Bama K probably are the 2 most legit for info. They called the Yeldon flip with exactly how and when it would happen before even AU got wind of anything and any other UA site. They also called Jenkins to UGA last year when Bone and the others were still saying UA. As well and the A taylor flip and many more. Redfish called the Foster flip this spring before he transferred.

In regards to Bell they feel UA is in a good position right now. But it seems his mother really likes CUM and OSU. Also feels that UT has a legit shot with the visit. The best thing for both UA and UT is he will visit both after OSU.

"Coach Urb is great, and he's excited to get me back up there to see what that atmosphere is all about at Ohio State," he explained. "I was there for camp last summer, and it was great seeing the campus and being with the coaches. My mother was with me and she loved it up there. She will play a big part in the decision. Coach Meyer came to my playoff game a few weeks ago, and it meant a lot to me to have the Big Man show up."

Alabama and Tennessee are also in the mix for Bell, and both schools have impressed him throughout the process.

"I love both Alabama and Tennessee," Bell admitted. "My official visits will help me decide my school. Alabama is just a great school, and when I think of Alabama it's all about Coach Saban. They always get the best football players, and they bond together to play for championships."

"Tennessee is the school I've loved for a long while now," he continued. "I've been talking to (new head coach) Butch Jones a lot, and he seems like a great guy. I'm looking forward to meeting him personally, and spending time with his staff."

Then why do people even try and recruit against those two? Saban and Meyer both had to go through the same situation, competing with great coaches in recruiting and to do so they had to target big name prospects and sell them on their programs which is what CBJ has to do now in order to bring in some of these big name prospects.

Him growing up a UT fan gives us some competitive advantages or I wouldn't think we have a shot here. But with getting his last OV I think between him, Lawson, and Green, Bell would be the one most likely to commit with us IMO.

Exactly.

Jones is just beginning his big boy SEC coaching career. He's just younger than Saban and Meyer. Winning is winning and Butch Jones has done plenty of that.

Bingo he brings a winning resume to the table. Saban did have LSU but Meyer came from Utah and convinced people that he could do the same at UF. Cincy is no different than Utah and actually probably a better program.
