Perfectly understandable and thanks for your response. Didn't really want to call you out but I guess I may have. Sorry. You offer such a unique perspective and I always enjoy hearing it. It seems you always want to keep your perspective on the positive side and I think that is very commendable. Thanks again!

Hey pal, I was not dissing Dooley. I simply was trying to reconcile what I read with the obvious positive light that MZTERRY saw him in. I respect her opinion and was looking for her insight. Please do not assume by my post it was anything negative toward our previous coach.

Oh and I have not "nitpicked" our current coach either. Am I bought in, absolutly not. I am taking a prove it to me first approach. Do I think we could have done better? Yes, I do. You can have your opinion and I'll have mine.

Granted new staff, and since his presser CJB is burning the candle at both ends, that said there needs more (and better) communication/contact (we've heard/read how badly CDD and staff dropped the ball---esp w/ in-state recruits) with high-profile recruits.

UNDERSTAND THIS CYBER COACHES!! i don't give damn what school you're at or being offerred by, if you don't show interest in that school they move the hell on from you; that simple. So! If 5* instate kid thinks he/she is better than UT and don't show interest then screw'em. Recruiting is two way street. i dont give damn what area a coach recruits in. All of the freakin' coaches can be assigned an area, but dammit if there's no SEC players in TEnnessee, then UT is going to go to Georgia, Florida, VA, HI, CO and get the best... pretty damn simple. Ya' feel me???! All this sh*t about Dooley not being able to recruit is bull*it. Don't blame your noninterest in UT on Dooley not recruiting.

I was trying to hold my peace,but someone emailed me about that same article so I went and read it, which was my mistake, but I had to make it clear.

It doesn't matter what school is recruiting a kid.... when a school offers and you may be intersted... pick up the phone and call and see if there's something there.

Relationships with these schools matter. I have one with EVERY school my son was interested in whether they became his top 3 , 5 or 10.... I can pick up the phone right now and talk to ALL of those coaches.

RELATIONSHIPSmatter.

And if anyone goes and read that article.. the first thing from BJ's mouth was "Winning comes first"; in translation for the cyber idiots... F'k where that kid come from... can he play? a coaches job is to find the best and recruit the best he can get.

While I respect MZTerry's opinion on the matter and her insight all it does it reaffirm what was already known...Dooley recruited Croom and is recruiting other Norcross players well. This, however, does not tell us anything about the perceived short comings of Dooley in other areas of the country, specifically in TN. Also, I understand that many areas of the state do not have much, if any, SEC caliber talent (I came from one of those areas), but when there is a player who has SEC talent in one of those areas and do not have much contact with a UT staff person then that would be cause for concern in my eyes.

Again, not bashing anyone and I am sure she has knowledge of some recruits interest in UT, but her knowledge of UT's recruiting plan and TN prospect's interest in UT would be minimal I would think.

and again! recruiting is two-way street. if an in-state player has an offer or not make yourself visible.

let me share this;

I handled Jason's recruitment as most of you know. I contacted UT. i sent him his highlights, I called and emailed. NOW WHAT?! my son is one of the best players in the country and I know it, but he wasn't immediately recruited by UT. He had offers from all over the country, except right here in his own backyard. jason had offers from pretty much ALL of the SEC schools except UT and GA. Now how crazy is that? but I know how this mess goes, so it didnt bother me. It bothers the people parents who are letting high school coaches dictate their kdis futures. NOT MINE!Recruits have to understand that there are 100,000 kids in every class. Because you're good doens't mean that you'll get looked at on your name alone.

Blame your high school recruitment coach too. because it's there job to get your kid tapes out and bring coaches on campus for the good players. If your ass live the backwoods of tennessee and can throw a football across the pond, tape it and send it in.

Excuses and blaming Dooley for a kid not recruiting in Tennessee, should be managed at the high school level. Something else I need to teach inmy recruiting classes. lol

People are so ignorant to this process. Always on the outside looking in and thinking they have superstar kids and dont. Living dreams through their kids lives. Unreal.

I just want one of the following Georgia backs: Dye, T.Jones, and Kamara

The other two are gone so I hope we can pull Kamara. Would be a great fit in this offense. If he doesn't come I'll root for him at another school. Hope all these kids do well.

I know a few high school coaches in my area that have totally backed up the Chattanooga article. One in particular I know had trouble even getting a response from anyone on the staff. Dooley for whatever reason absolutely ignored the state of TN. Recruiting is about relationships, highschool coaches have a relationship with their kids and if the TN staff hasnt built relationships with those coaches they can not just swoop in when they do have a talented kid and get him. Not when other schools have built those relationships.
