Now Ainge just divulged that someone in academics (probably Susan Martin) vetoed Butch Davis as the hire. Hart wanted Davis. Cheek overruled Hart, that's when the search went to Jones.

Holy mother of Mary what a mess.

If it is Jones, it shows that this administration has succeeded in deemphasizing UT football to the point that it will be down for at least a decade.

The only way to improve it is to clean house of Hart, Cheek and the others, and get some Tennessee people in there. We should strive to be good at everything--academics and athletics combined.

Everyone has completely forgotten to the info we were given. The OGs have been on this board for a LONG time...they said if anything changed at any point in time and it wasn't Gruden, then they would come here and tell us, and take their lumps. To me, the silence from them is that nothing has changed, and they don't want to witness the meltdown that occurs here before the unveiling of our real coach. Also, I have no idea if Boomer_Vol is credible, but he said "SO CLOSE". This potential hiring of Jones is more close than Strong was. Just food for thought. I am having second thoughts, too, but I always take it that no news is good news.

I don't want jone's, that being said, I will pull for them no matter who is coach. I hope he prove's me wrong, I can't believe some of you? Rather pull for vandy, trashing him on twitter, not gonna be a fan? Bandwagon fan's at te best! The guy has yet to coach a game, and you are acting worse than any fan's I know. Sorry, but true.

Ppl stop bashing university, until jones is standing in front of podium lying abt beating Florida and Uga every year, stop bashing the ppl to get this done
