I would take Pelini, Tressel (with his NCAA issues) and possibily even Peterino before Jones. Also, I would counter Gundy, Strong with more $$$ (easy to spend other peoples money) or make Patterson an offer he can't refuse.

Guys they have to hire someone soon, and have to get someone that will say yes. I know no one wants to believe it but NO major winning coach will come here right now. A lot of private concerns have been made public and those will get fixed, and Jones is a solid coach.....MUCH better than Dooley.

When he backed up on Colorado this morning after Strong surprisingly turned us down, I felt like this was coming.

As you know I have always enjoyed your posts even though I have not always agreed with some of them..

But if we are now willing to settle for Jones...we might as well had given Dooley another year..and saved his buyout from being so large.

I don't care if we don't get a coach until January, I care if we get it right... Go BIG or go home!

Sorry for being positive lol.

Of those likely to say yes to our current situation, I do think Jones is near the top of the list. Just my opinion, go ahead and blast me for being a positive fan and not thinking a coach that has won at least a share of his conference in 4 out of 6 years as a HC, got 2nd once, and has only had one losing season, his first at Cincy. We could have done a lot worse assuming he doesn't turn us down as well.
