Who would you prefer if Fedora and Strong say no?

I don't know but I know you don't hire a guy who has been out of the game for 5 years and hasn't been thought about for ONE HC job since being fired at TN. Fulmer isn't the answer if you want to win championships.

You talking about Fulmer, this sounds like Gruden.

petrino has to be lookin better and better right now

if im the AD no way i hire the guy from cinci a little bad PR vs another epic mistake like dooley

I do think that if nothing comes out today, Strong will be off the board and Hart will be onto plans C & D. This search has suddenly taken that erie Dooley feeling.

The team meeting had already been scheduled, it was to tell the team about their bowl prep schedule.

Sidenote: If we end up missing out on Strong, I'd rather give Fulmer $3-3.5 mill & bring Chavis back than to offer a Butch Jones or someone like that.

I think Fulmer would take the job at 2.5 million for 5 years. That enables us to offer Chavis 1.15 million to return. Chaney goes to 750 grand and we are off and recruiting. Add Martin, and Dale Jones. Best option IMO.

why don't i see Darin Hinshaw mentioned anytime someone posts about retaining coaches. If there is only one coach that could be retained whenever we hire a new head coach, it should be Hinshaw.

IMO, Hinshaw isn't a great coach. A very good recruiter, but not a great coach. I'm not strictly opposed to keeping him, but we could upgrade that spot IMO.

imo it is b/c most think he will get a OC job soon (like for 2013) and don't think he is ready for that at a school like UT so they understand he is going to have to go somewhere else to get that chance

I read that the meeting is actually after the scheduled workout this afternoon. May be a little while longer... Inside TN (Scout) guys and Clay Travis are tweeting that a plane is on it's way to Louisville. TIFWIW.

Per the cliff notes thread

Hubbs was asked about if he liked our chances with Strong. His response was...

"I don't know. I really don't. Louisville is matching money and I think it comes down to whether or not Strong is comfortable with everything at Tennessee and if he really indeed wants back in the SEC."

Man I hope your right O&W. And sorry for what may sound like a dumb question but giving all that has happen I' m a little shell shocked, you do mean to pick him up right????

man you are optimistic!

and you have a lot of faith in the hiring ability of a man that hired Sal as DC

You guys are still not understanding...it will look like Hart made this hire, when in reality he actually didn't. That's all I am saying. I won't post anymore, since no one wants to hear the good news that Gruden will be our next head coach. Deuces!
