Hart already stated that he does not tell a head coach what assistants the HC should hire. Couldn't help wondering about that one.

Louisville's proposed deal is already a counter to our offer. Usually you do not play ping pong back and forth, but in this case it could happen, but not likely.

Can we all get past bashing other posters for their opinion of what they think is going on? So what if some people see things differently. We're all still Vols in the end.


Spencer Tillman just said on the Tim Brando show he'd be completely shocked if Strong isn't at UT fwiw

word is MC was doing some clandestine talks thru back channels and someone dropped a dime on him to AD.

Sounds reasonable. I'm sticking to my guns and prior knowledge of contract negotiations. I really do think this is down to details.

UL's making a counter-offer. Strong is going to have a tough decision.

I saw some of the early stuff and I agree that there has been some plausibility and last Wednesday night I almost took the plunge. There are many fascintiong features to the story and as much as I like information, I wonder if some regret that so much was released if any of it was true. And I suspect at least some of it is. Still I continue to be agnostic as to who will be the next coach. It is still the internet you know?

Edit: Am bit fed up with the true believers though.

Loui's mess was way bigger when Strong took that job than ours is now. Charlie Strong would have to be some kind of chicken to pass the opportunity to coach Tennessee, and I just don't think Charlie Strong is some kind of chicken.

Bruin is a good logical dude, usually getting hammered over there for not being All Gruden All the Time!

He has never claimed to know anything and I have read most of that thread until the last couple days. Now its just sad and negative. No coach not named Gruden will be anything to the remaining posters over there other than either another Dooley or a "smokescreen".

Forde thinks there is a struggle with strong in u of L making last second push.. says vols will put full court press on today.

Forde never thought Gruden to Tennessee(who did really)

I am apprehensive about Strong right now, but at about 4pm Central today I am sure I will be either really happy (we got Strong) or pretty bummed (we didn't get Strong). The team meeting will probably tell us what we need know, but until then I am trying to stay optimistic.

I do not think some people that are bashing Strong realize what the alternatives are if Gundy is out. Without the Strong hire, Fedora and Golden would be considered "A Listers". If not one of those two, or some crazy Tressell hire or something we are either looking at Butch Davis or someone we have never heard of (again).
