Man, this is discouraging. Strong to UT was the first rumor I've latched onto this whole time. Not sounding good at this point. Curious what Hart has up his sleeve to either make this happen or to get someone as good or better in place.

I don't understand why we seem to be having so much trouble landing a coach this time around. It's very odd to me.

Urban Meyer wanted to run it down your throat all along.

I just want a coach who is commited to playing defense and running the football. Can an air it out attack win games? Sure. Can it win a championship? That has yet to be determined.

I think pretty highly of him but that would be a PR disaster. Just imagine what the imbeciles in the Gruden thread would do for Cristobal if they don't like Strong.

Been way to painful up til now. Gonna be hard to open one's heart to a JG hire, scripted or not.

This is the conference Strong wants to be in????

Tickets to Saturday's Atlantic Coast Championship between Florida State and Georgia Tech were going for as little as $2 on ticket-resale sites. Before the game, the NCAA had granted the Yellow Jackets a waiver so they would be bowl-eligible even if they lost and fell to 6-7, which is exactly what happened in a 21-15 FSU win. Tech only got to argue over the minutiae of the NCAA rule book and play the extra game because division mates Miami and North Carolina are ineligible for the postseason due to NCAA sanctions.

There's some in and around Stillwater who think that Gundy has told Ok. State officials he's staying. That chatter seems to be growing it's coming from the sideline reporter from Oklahoma State.

I think that he is likely going to stay at Oklahoma State. I'm looking for confirmation from my own source at this point.

You've proven my point. Jimmy Hyams said they would not wear black uniforms and he has been crushes ever since. Name me one person who's credibility will be shredded if Gruden doesn't come that is saying we are doing this as a smokescreen? I've been really tolerant and respectful, Ron but there's a point where it would leak somewhere. NFL, ESPN, UT or Gruden but you're hanging your hat on backroom deals. Sorry, I won't say another word. Post on about the great plot.

I'm just tired of seeing it.

The way this is all unfolding it's either Gruden (or some other ace up his sleeve) or Hart is a buffoon.

I was just giving y'all a hard time yesterday. I honestly just wanted your answer to the question. Nothing else. Obviously, I don't agree. Nothing about this coaching serach says Hart has Gruden "up his sleeve," but that is JMO.

Do I think it's outlandish that there are a ton of people that still believe Gruden is a possibility? Yes. However, if some miracle happens and Gruden gets named the coach, I would be ecstatic. But we all know how I feel about the likelihood of that possibility.

Ron, you're a solid poster...

Based on everything that has come out over the last 2 weeks concerning Gruden, what makes you think there is even the slightest possibility that it could still happen?


...and believe me, I have a friend with family connections to UT still try to convince me as little as 10 minutes ago that it's still very much a possibility.
