All this misinformation is driving me crazy. However, looking more and more like it's coming down to Gundy and Strong.

You may be on to something. Belichek and Saban are damn near savants and can coach the socks off of everyone.

Who is even saying Gundy? Swain?

Ehhh I will roll with LWS. It's Strong.

I am pretty sure swain was tweeting out the whole rumor about Gruden not doing MNF last week.

I guess that was a false alarm. I got that info from a Vol poster on tigerdroppings who always posts Hubbs/Rucker paysite info over there. I figured it was legit. My apologies,I definitely didn't mean to cause an uproar.

He posted this a few minutes ago:

Rucker said Pelini did not interview with us today.

Also says he did not report that Mora info.

I am ready for this search to be over. Getting out of hand.

If we get any one of the three (Gundy, Mora or Strong) as our next HC, I will be very happy. I think any of them are home runs! Get the hire done and then on to the second season of College Football, Recruiting!!! GBO!!!

I have heard from a couple of places in the last hour or
so that Hart is planning on doing another interview in the morning in
New York.

I don't know for sure who that is at this point. Larry
Fedora is a name you hear, but I can't say for sure that they are going
to talk to him.

So I am trying to find out who the other guy is.

A decision could come tomorrow or Wednesday. I do believe it will be done
this week. Gundy and Strong are clearly two finalists and we are trying
to see who this third guy is.

I think Strong would take the job
if offered. I'm not sure where Gundy is after interviewing with
Arkansas. I'm not sure he's eliminated Tennessee.

I think that comes across as real and believable sometimes, more so than all slick and polished?? Just a thought

I have to admit I wasn't really big on Mike Gundy under any circumstances (mostly because of that stupid video) but I could see him being a good hire. I like the kind of offense he runs and you watch the A & M/Bama game and you could see an example of what he could bring to the table. I think the spread could work at Tennessee. I think we would need a top notch DC brought in with him (and I wonder whom that could be) but I think it would be worth it. Strong is still number 1---but Gundy's gotten some traction with me.

Three things about Strong that turn me off:

1) I do not believe he is a very good game day coach.

2) He is not polished and the head coach at UT is the face of the University to the nation.

3) Strong has played the race card before. What would stop him from using against UT if his tenure soured and UT tries to make a change?

Sure it could be, but during coaching searches you skew everyting you can to the candidate you prefer.
