Are we expecting to get a coach that will just get us back on track and then hire another coach within in the next 3 or 4 years? I personally look at the list of candidates and I see the highest we can achieve in the next three or four years is probably 4th best in the east, with no SEC championships, and no BCS games.

Or, are we really expecting our next coach to be the one to have a rough first year or two and then be comepting for the East or better? I see this to be difficult with said coaches.

Or, or, are we really expecting any of these coaches to take us back to being a dominate contender in the SEC? I say nay.

I hate to be so pessimistic, but there is not one coach on the list that has me excited. I could be totally wrong, but anyone of the guys on that list are not going to impress me, or any of the recruits that we are going to lose or miss out on. I can't even get excited over the coach search.

Name me one coach in the SEC outside of Saban that should've made a fan base excited when they were hired based on the criteria you have.

All I am saying is I was atleast excited about Kiffin, this time all we have are guys that can't win their conferences or are masters of the sun belt universe.

Out of the top 4 guys mentioned today, Fisher was the only one that I liked, the guys been successful at whatever he's done, and he rejuvenated a stagnant program at FSU, maybe he can do the same here if hired.

I know Chavis doesn't have the hc experience but I think he could restore that defense in year or less

I agree. And if it is such a great coach then why would he leave his job and come to Tennessee? If it is a Al Golden type guy i am finished. Not going through this crap anymore. James Franklin he is better than anyone not named Gruden. He can coach. Anyone that has Vandy playing this good can coach and recruit. Looks like Vandy is on way up and we are staying at the bottom.:bad:

How'd the first recruiting class turn out? Actually, just forget his time here. How has he as a coach turned out in general?

Oh I get what your saying.... So how did you feel about the dooley hire?

Those coaches to this point have done nothing to impress me.

I gave him a shot and ignored reality that he sucked. How have those other coaches not done anything to impress you? Strong, Fedora, and Fisher all have been great as coordinators and have had very good success as head coaches. That is the formula these days.

we have a right to feel this way with these expectations for one we are tennessee and two after the dooley debacle that means an up and comer ain't gonna work fast enough. and the longer it takes to get us back to the top the farther we fall behind everyone else including vandy.

I feel Dooley part two is on the way. It is just my gut feeling.

Strong coaches big lEast, even dooley beat their conference champions last year. Fedora has UNC playing ok in another crappy conference. Fisher just laid down against florida, and he also lost to NC state with his supperior talent and recruitting class. NC state also lost to Dooley.

So your criteria is a coach that has a perfect resume? Nick Saban, himself, doesn't have that.

Go look at Sumlin, Muschamp, Richt, and Miles. Tell me if they would've excited you as a HC when they were hired. Dooley had proven nothing as a coordinator and definitely didn't as a HC.

So your criteria is anyone that is coach at UT must be a great coach?

I am looking at medicore coaches with medicore results.... You're looking at a different group of coaches. Do you really want to be like richt? Could of just kept fulmer. Miles is just riding the wave Saban started.

Sumlin was the one real miss IMO.

Furthermore, yes I am looking for someone with a near perfect resume. That is the only way I feel we won't drop out of the top 30 in recruitting this year, and we can actually get the players excited.

If Miles was an awful coach that wave would've been long gone. Why was Sumlin a miss? His resume is no more impressive than Fedora's or Strong's.

Miles maintained what saban started, and it is probably starting to slide IMO. Summlins resume apparently, at the time, wasn't as good as dooley's. I can go hindsight 20 20 on Summlin, and these other two guys you named Fedora, and UF DC do not impress me. Excuse me if my desire for a sure thing is wained by a ACC coach and a guy that is excited to only lose to uconn and syrc.

You know who Sumlin lost to? Saban lost to? Miles lost to?

How much coaching experience did Richt and Muschamp have?

And if LSU is slipping, I would love to slip. Just out of curiosity, what did Kiffin ever do that excited you before he got here?

So you are excited about any and all candidates huh?

Any of them make you feel like dooley did?

They do me.

Sumlin's resume has always been more impressive than Dooley's. Only an idiot who didn't understand football would think otherwise. Mike Hamilton was that kind of idiot. And so were the people who backed him.

If you think Fisher, Fedora, or Strong have anything in common with Dooley, then you are borderline incompetent. Out of curiosity, what did Kiffin do to excite you before he got the job?
