Strong is interviewing today. Hubbs alluded to that the other day. He is also interviewing several others this weekend.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the best candidate that fits the bill...James Franklin.

I hope Hart is interviewing Strong today, hires him by Monday, & he starts putting his staff together & gets moving toward finishing this class off w/ a bang.

This.

Am hoping strong wants to prove himself in the SEC. And we will give him his best shot to do it. Also a coach like strong, I think if he is successful and you reward him for that success he would be apt to stay at UT for a long time.

Hart didn't do anything and thats the problem. He could have came out and said I tried but he didn't want to come so I'm moving on and ask the fanbase to get behind me and support me through this process. Instead he sat there not saying or doing anything either knowing Gruden didn't want to come or that he had no interest in going after gruden and let the rumors hit a fever pitch.
So sorry but Hart did do something wrong, he did nothing to kill or contain the rumors.

Just because you haven't heard anything doesn't mean Hart hasn't done anything. Hart has done a lot. He has been working which included calling all of our commitments and finding which coaches would be interested or not.

There is not one A.D. in the NCAA that is going to give any insight to to fanbase on what he is doing or what he is planning to do.

Ever heard the saying "damned if you do and damned if you don't?" If he does say something and it isn't about officially hiring someone then people will be pissed, but if he doesn't say something then he's "doing nothing."

I am glad Hart isn't pandering to a VERY paranoid and fickle fanbase by addressing every rumor and situation. Let the first official statement be about hiring a coach, not feeding a rumor.

Hubbs isnt off his game.

He told everyone from the jump the infintesimally small chances of landing Gruden.

peopke just chose not to believe the closest source to the Tennessee Athletic department.

everyone just wanted to be the 1st to say they knew instead of letting things play out and actually doing legit legwork.

His accuracy hasn't been off. You're right about that. He just doesn't share much of anything with his subscribers until after it happens. Just me complaining, I guess. :hi:

There is a plane owned by Clayton Homes that was in Louisville four days ago and in Waco also. They are really digging over there. LOL.

Re: Brent...any afternoon coaching nuggets today???

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't heard anything about Stoops resigning.

I don't see Butch Davis ending up a real factor. He would like to be and has been trying, but I'm not sure he can really get Tennessee's interest.

I think Charlie Strong will be interviewed and it might be happening right now.

I'd be estatic if we land Strong.

I'd like to hear the stories from different posters on what went wrong with the gruden deal that was in the works way back in October Lol.

Rucker just said on the radio he has talked to two different people who are like brothers to strong in the coaching business and they said he favors ut over arky and auburn. They said its not even close either. It seems like if the money is right and we want him, strong could be the guy

I know many on here like strong - i have presented a lot of things that concern me - i also have a hunch that most of the pro-strong people havent seen near as much Lville football as i have over the past 3 years and so they havent seen the same things i have - on the surface i agree he looks great, but once you watch the game you see a Les Miles with fewer wins - just mistake after mistake managing the games

what i dont get though is why many of the pro-strong guys are anti-fedora - just did some reasearch on fedora and seems to have a very good resume - just not even close to the resume DD had when he came, but also one that would stack up to a lot of guys trying to land their first big gig - here are some highlights

2004 as florida OC led conference in pts per game, 3rd in yds

2007 last year as OC at Okie State (under Gundy) 9th in country in yards per game

2011 went 12-2 w/southern miss, had them ranked in top 20 and beat #6 houston – also at southern miss signed a 5 star guy (quite a feat there) – also had highest grad rate in school history – in 4 seasons went to a bowl and had a winning season all 4 years

2012 – midst of ncaa violations, probation goes 8-4 in first year in program – did have key guys return but still a nice season

Yeah I don't understand that either SC. Fedora is just a good of hire as anybody imo..I'd prefer strong because he's a defense first guy, but Fedora is a solid coach.

Defense wins championships, Strong>Fedora

ill be honest and say i didnt really know much about him prior to looking some things up today - but he definitely seems like a guy that could be a really nice hire

when you compare what he did to what DD did prior - no coord experience and 1 of 3 on winning seasons at lower division school - its not even close

The one concern I have with Fedora is his dedication to running the ball and playing defense. That is what I really want in a head coach. I like Fedora, I just want a different style than he would bring.

he is 50-50 run pass - i like a balanced offense

Wonder if Charlie Strong would recruit Ryan White, Jason Hatcher, James Quick, and Kyle Bolin if he came. Those would be 4 great pickups. We'll likely need another QB if Bray leaves.
