I am still here with you Jay... as I promised until it's over

While my confidence has dropped significantly (lol), I have come to far to turn back now. As Coasty said "I am 100% until Gruden says no and them I am at 80%". SO I guess I am at 80% :salute:

Lots of things in these threads have "erked" me for sure...

But for some reason this Lamonte guy has really pissed me off with the tone of his "fantasy" statement.

If what JG's agent said is, in fact, what the sentiment is, and we have expected UTAD to step up to the plate for a big hire, what does that tell us about where our program is. If it is not attractive to upper tier coaches, if we shoot for the big names and they mock the prospect, does that mean we have an elevated opinion of the attractiveness? Or, does it meant that those that are representing our program (school, facilities, history, etc.) are doing a poor job conveying what we have to offer? I am sick, so let down, because I saw this potential hire a slam dunk and immediate return to relevance.

what do you want him to do?!?! Every other quality candidate still has games left this weekend. My God. Assuming this deal is infact dead, his hands are tied until after Saturday.

If Hart were to hire Franklin yesterday this place would be in an uproar about the decision and everyone would be asking "why not wait till after this weekend and go after a better coach" but when Hart waits (like it seems he is doing now) everyone freaks out and says "why isn't he doing anything. wahh wahh wahhhh.

Auburn and Arkansas are not waiting to contact those coaches.

I am here too Coastypop. This is just all really weird. Trying to kill even the idea of it. Maybe now that Hart and Lamonte have apparently spoken there will be a line of communication open and Hart can go get him.:whistling:

I don't understand why our AD is so incompetent. If it wasn't true, you don't let it get to this point and allow Bob f'n Lamonte to trash your University! Something is rotten in Knoxville.

My question to you guys/girls is this: Would Dooley be considered the worst coach in UT history, conversely is Gruden seen as the pinnacle, "the one", the dream?

If so, wouldn't saying we got rid of the worst coach in our history and the dream coach hire isn't available, that there are still plenty of huge improvements that fall between the two?

You are free to have whatever opinion you wish to have. This whole deal is crazy. It looks like there's a full-scale war between boosters and the UT leadership. I really don't know what to think right now. If we hire someone other than Gruden, I'll be here like I said to take whatever.

Hey Jay whatever the outcome thanks for the info that you and the OGs provided. I am still in until the new coach is named.

Vol in AZ a little behind the times, here...what did I miss since last night?...how come all of a sudden we are highly doubtful Gruden is even talking to us?

I dont believe the comments from Lamonthe, just goes against everything I have been told for weeks by people I trust and have known for a while. Something is very off
