Just once more before signing off for a few hours!

Gruden 2012

Here is a visual representation of tonight's happenings. It involves three characters.

1-The Jon Gruden Contract Offer Story

2-Chattanooga TFP

3-Wes Rucker

I'll let y'all decide which character is which.

From my perch, this is all somewhat strange. So I'll just tell you what I have been through the last two hours and see what you think.

1. At 10p, I got two simultaneous, unsolicited texts from a primary source (booster side) telling me the deal was off. No details. Nothing. I've still got nothing else from that end. But I held off because of crap like this.

2. TFP publishes article saying legit offer was on table for Gruden, directly quoting sources close to the deal.

3. At 12a, Babyvol says "It's done!"

4. At 12:30a Someone points me to a discussion on TOS where John Brice insinuates Hart may not stick around if Gruden is hired, and that he wants to go another direction.

You tell me?

I think it is very possible that Hart's primary role in this whole deal was to provide disinformation to the media. He probably had some media members convinced that Gruden was not his choice. The media has been way behind this story the whole time because their normal sources within the AD have been given very little info.

Gruden sees Franklin: BR + frag grenade: KILL. Looks left, sees Miles and Muschamp: throws plasma grenade:DOUBLE KILL, TRIPLE KILL! Gruden spots Spurrier and Saban across the map: switches to sniper rifle: 2 headshots later: OVERKILL, GRUDENAIRE! Victory!

holy smokes, I had completely forgotten about that....not sure if it was zook though.

It was absolutely Zook. Still on the payroll here, but headed to Florida.

This is the sort of thing where loyalties get interesting: hiring back someone who screwed you over in the past, but might do you good in the future...

Nothing is simple!

Hart not wanting Gruden is not true.

Now? Or all along?

From how the "search" has been conducted, it would seem to me that he has been on board at least since Dooley was fired.

I guess I'm looking for the truth in the rumors - as there often is some underlying truth - and I come back to the thought that he had to be convinced and was uneasy about some demands.
