To mirror what Bruinvol said, he knows how to develop talent, and get the most out of players. The talent is here with some young players and right coaching will get us back on the right track.

Is this your opinion or do you have proof of this?

Holy Crap, I Have a Source!

And it's a real source...a best friend of Papa Haslam's wife. Here's what I heard:

"Haslam, Peyton and Bobbie Goodfriend have chipped a million each (a year?) to get him here.. So the money is there but now apparently some of the trustees are not sure if he is a good fit.

Word is now the money is there and Gruden wants the job but the trustees aren't sure about him being a good fit so no offer has been made. Hopefully they will get enough pressure from the money people to make the offer...but who knows...everyone is trying not to get their hopes up too high."

TWIW, but if true...the entire fan base should be irate with the BOT.

Just got a call... Gruden not doing MNF tonight...presser tonight or tomorrow.

Hold your breath boys!

I'm serious...from inside Ath Dept so we will see at 8:00. I much prefer rumors/tips that are proven or not in under 4 hours.

When I posted this, I was just passing along info... The hold your breath part was to say hope it is true/we shall see. Then in the edit I referred to it as a rumor/tip.

My interpretation of what I was told is that a tip from within AD was merged with the Cowturd/Dilfer MNF convo. I think we have all seen that sources from within the AD haven't been the best (so far).

We are all creamin' our jeans (so to speak) over the possibility of Gruden being our coach. He would be awesome...rock star of football...more Saban than Saban...

Again, I was just passing along what I was told from a rather conservative buddy.

That said, here is what he passed along this evening...

Apparently his buddy with the source in the AD apologized and said he would pass along no more updates...then forwarded another text (saying read it at your own risk)...from a different source than Saturday night...Straight from Haslam tonight "as far as I know NO Gruden"

I want to believe it is just smokescreen, but reality is Hart and the Heavy Hitters can keep a secret if they want and we are all just at their mercy.

Funny that these tips/updates are coming from a guy that never gossips, drops names, tweets, no FB acct, etc (a bsns acquaintance to me)...to our mutual close friend, the even more conservative one, that also never gossips, drops names, tweets, no FB acct, etc.

Certainly more entertaining than our crappy football season...

GBO! Gruden Belongsin Orange!

EXACTLY.
This times 1000.

If he were a Vol, he'd actually show some consistent emotions. At least the "FF crowd" is consistent.

All this clown wants to do is stir stuff up.
He walked into the room tonight, spent a couple of minutes tossing positive Gruden vibes, and then proceeded to take a big dump. So predictable.

Please use the Ignore Button. I wouldn't classify Vol fans as consistent with their emotions given we don't have a coach and just came off a losing record for the 3rd straight year.

I just heard from a reliable source, after the game tonight, while still on the air, he is going to tell ESPN to suck it and put on an orange hat. Presser in the morning...

How does he meet Hart's criteria of a winning coach?

I think the presser was taken too literally. I think he was stating where you start when looking for a candidate but aren't limited to those traits.

His winning at temple was simply a miracle. He took over the worst program in college football with only 3 wins in the 3 years before he got there. He won 17 games in his last 2 years. That is a very serious history in taking a program at its lowest point and turning it into a winner.

I really believe this you guys.

Hard to take anyone serious that tweets to Sab.

I don't know either one of them, but in all fairness to Pope. Sab asked him a question and he just answered him. I am not sure the two know each other. Pope does work for the Knox New Sentinel (even if just a small role), so I thought it was news worthy.

I am not saying any of it is true, but only interesting.
