I want Gruden. I could handle Stoops. Patterson maybe, but TCU's first year in the Big 12 wasn't that impressive. Dan Mullen a maybe as well. Pretty much every other name I've heard will leave me crying.

I'm considering buying shares in kleenex because the longer this goes on, the harder it is to keep believing. I can't help but feel Hart is going to screw this up. Not intentionally, I just think he'll make a bad hire. The past few years have led me to expect disappointment.

If it's not an NCAA thing, it'd almost certainly be a state administrative rule rather than a statute. I would check but it's not really relevant, as many administrative rules have lots of "outs" and alternate rules depending on the circumstances.
My guess is that the contract isn't signed for 2 or 3 months in a lot of cases as the coach works under the MOU provides an out, but that seems kinda flimsy.

I'm not that worried about it, clearly they can hire a guy in 3 days minimum.

P.S. Gruden just mentioned Knoxville and Tennessee!!! WOo!

Gruden just mentioned Arian Foster, Bryce Brown, the university of Tennessee and Knoxville all in one sentence! Too bad he said how much he loves pro football in the sentence before.

Wasn't sure if this latest tidbit from baby made it over here yet:

Re: Babyvol - any new info yet ???

I'll give ya this nugget. Saban told a member of Alabama Power that Gruden had asked him permission to speak to one of coaches on his staff about coming to TN. (He wasn't sure which one but thought it might be strength coach).

Guy on Finebaum today said that Saban said he has not been asked about any team speaking to anyone on his coaching staff.
