Not sure if this matters, but the circumstances were different. Kiffin quit without notice, whereas Dooley was fired. Maybe that's why we didn't have to wait to hire DD? Just a guess. No smartass.

on the 14 days .....on facebook I ask gary haskew (Dr. B...102.3 sport talk) and he said they got a state waiver for Dooley. I then ask why a wavier for a low profile hire but not asking for one for an even more important hire like Gruden....no explaination offered.

If that's true the waiver would have been granted due to the timing of LaneK leaving. So close to signing day might have allowe them to claim special circumstances getting that waiver

He coached and lost on a Saturday, Was fired the next morning. No "fired but not announced period."


The law that jobs must be posted for 14 days does not exist. If a company needs to fill a spot, they can fill it immediately.

No one knows why the coaching change hasn't been announced (assuming there has been one) because the AD is locked down. It's that simple.
