Official Jon Gruden Thread XI

Could it be that the deal is signed, and we don't know it? Why wouldn't they announce, though?

Maybe they are waiting to get maximum pub. Please don't flame. This is a guess. If they announce a few days before the SEC championship game....heads will freaking explode.

This is in no way a guarantee. Lex is too chicken to do timetables.

Regardless of what is said, or implied, if you are taking anything typed on a message board as absolute, that's on you, IMO.

Surely you are not suggesting that the OG's' statements of a 100% done deal were not intended to be absolute, are you?

The negas imo just like coming in here and starting sh*t because the JG threads have stolen the thunder from the FF forum. If you've listened to Boro and they boyz since day one and read lex's opening post in this thread, its hard to imagine Gruden isn't our new HC!!

I've listened to Boro and the boyz since day one, and my stance hasn't changed..Still VERY confident that this is gonna happen.

I never thought for a second that we had "cooled" on Gruden..Too much had happened for that to be the case.

Yea. But because some guy on the radio says it, a bunch of morons think it is true.

Then it causes a trainwreck in here, like yesterday.

I had to take periodic breaks from the insanity.

Off topic but the Seattle/Miami NFL game was stopped due to the sprinklers coming on during the game.

Never seen anything like it.

Not the first time it has happened with Miami... I seem to recall another incident in Miami as well.

CNNSI.com - NFL Playoffs - AFC Divisional - Dolphins vs. Jaguars - Jaguars beat Dolphins 62-7, move into AFC title game - Wednesday February 02, 2000 12:11 PM

It may have been the most embarrassing loss for Johnson and Marino in their storied careers. It was punctuated by a cold blast of water from the sprinkler system in the south end zone soon after a Jaguars touchdown made it 55-7.

I'm just saying, conflicting things in your opinion, you said if its not done by now, its not gruden. But then how can it still be Gruden? hahah

I may be off here but I think what that means is if UTAD does not have a deal signed with Gruden at this point it is not going to happen...meaning the deal could very well be done and signed just not announced yet. That’s my take anyway.

From their perspective, based on what they know, it probably is 100% done. In truth, that may be the case. But I don't know that for certain. When pen goes to paper, that's when I'll consider it done.

I do think it will get there, but as far as I'm concerned, it ain't there yet.

I understand but the OG's are giving the board absolutes.

In the beginning weren't you absolute on Gruden then absolute he wasn't and now you're on the fence? I really don't feel like digging through a ton of post but I'm pretty sure on this, not absolute tho.

This thread today vs this thread yesterday looks like an alternative universe.

Maybe the FFFers took the day off?

Seems reasonable to me.

We are conditioned for immediate gratification, but coaching hires are a strange animal. There are a lot of moving pieces, with prior commitments, PR, scheduling, protocol, finances, etc.

If he is announced this week, it will actually be pretty quick turnaround for a coaching hire at a major university.

Fulmer was fired after USC, and although most knew about Kiffin by the end of November, he wasn't announced until early December.
