That is interesting giving that he has been pretty much an NFL coach. It would be a good hire for ya.

Fisher would be the big name hire that Auburn needs. The rewards would far out weigh the risk of a "learning curve" from always a pro coach to college. It would also have to be a package deal with former AU player and Rams GM, Les Snead. Money does not appear to be an issue. It sounds like the additional lure to get him to AU is his son has two years remaining to play for him

That said, it is a longshot he ends up at AU.

The real reason that Hinshaw helped Bray so much is because of one person. Darin Slack. He owns and runs Darin Slack QB Academy which turned into National Football Academies. The guy is the best prep QB coach in the country. Hinshaw talked to him at least once a week. I can vouch for that.

Fayetteville TV station KTHV is reporting that former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders coach Jon Gruden has been offered the head coaching job at Arkansas.Gruden is currently a pro football analyst on ESPN's Monday Night Football crew.

KTHV sports reporter Jim Harris cited three independent sources in reporting the offer, but had no details on what the terms or duration of the contract offer might be.

CBS Sports NFL reporter Jason La Canfora reported this week that both Arkansas and Tennessee, which fired coach Derek Dooley this week, are interested in Gruden, 49, who won a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay.

"The Razorbacks are prepared to make their next coach the highest-paid in the SEC, according to sources close to the program, and budget will not be an issue," La Canfora wrote.

La Canfora also cited NFL sources as saying Gruden "has made calls identifying possible staff members with his focus seeming more on the college game, asking questions of those potential staffers about recruiting and issues that do not relate to pro football."

Oh , oh, oh so did Ron Higgins of sec.com and the Memphis commercial appeal.

I do. Most are saying announcement next Friday, 11/30. I'll be surprised if they can keep it quiet that long though. I'd prefer they announced today :)

Yea, I saw the 11/30 talk. That does seem like quite a long time from now considering how loud the swirling rumors are getting. But I'll be glad to wait if that's what it takes lol. That date would generate a huge amount of buzz.

The icing on the Gruden-announcement-Friday-before-SEC Championship cake would be to steal some major press from Bama and UGA, but I am not sure it happens that quickly.

I was reading an article about Worley waiting for the new coach announcement to see if he will fit in his system & thought about something. If Worley didnt play vs vandy could he have used his redshirt?

I know he played vs Akron & GaSt but can't remember any other time he got pt. I'm not exactly sure what the rules are for redshirting. I've heard it's burned after a certain point in the season (say like after 4th game) & also heard it's burned after a certain percentage of playing time (meaning the player didn't play in more than 10% or 20% of plays).

Anybody know how this works? Surely Dooley didn't blow an opportunity to RS Worley by playing him vs vandy, right?

Worley played against Bama, in addition to GA State and Vandy. I bet he gets into the Kentucky game one way or the other.

I will say, Worley's arm strength has impressed me in his short stints this year. He is also pretty efficient with getting the ball out. He would do fairly solidly if he was our starter, I believe. I wouldn't blame him for going elsewhere if Bray comes back, though.
