Ron Higgins is straight trippin about UT fans obsession with Gruden. Then I saw where he is a vocal UGAly fan i was like ahhhh... I would say the same if Georgia was getting the most well known coach in all of football to the 17-18 year old range.

No doubt. I'm sure there will be many of sharts that occur once JG hits the podium as our new HC. Cant wait.

My fraternity brother from ETSU is Jon Gruden's brother in law, anyway we were Lambda Chi's there in the mid to late 80's time period. My frat brother called me today @ 4:00 at work, and he told me that no way will Gruden take any offer from Arkansas. He said if he takes a college coaching job it will be Tennessee. He did tell me that Cindy and Jon love living in Florida, and they loved living in California, while he coached with the Raiders. Gruden was given the honor of lighting the eternal flame in Oakland, CA in honor of Al Davis, while there Mike Davis - Al's son, told Gruden he would like for him to coach the Raiders again and wished they had him back, and I can tell you my frat brother told me that the Raiders may be our biggest competitor, however, he said and I quote, "You never know what Jon will do, he could just decide to stay at ESPN". Anyway, we both would love to see Jon at Tennessee, and I sincerely hope it happens, as I think it would be awesome for UT. Of course, I'm a huge Raiders fan but my loyalty to the Vols takes precedent over that, so here is hoping that Coach Gruden is in orange & white, instead of silver and black again.. You guys may "flame" me, I believe that is the term, but I have been a UT for 40 years since I was a kid, just passing along this information. Go Big Orange!

Mark Davis is not happy with his present coaches. Gruden is as revered in Oakland, perhaps as much as he is in this thread. He cut out a lot of nonsense when he came to Oakland. Once upon a time, a KR fumbled the kickoff and BAM, he was gone the next day. He got rid of Big Al's man, Jeff George and replaced him with relatively unknown Rich Gannon and the rest is history.

But does Gruden want to go back to Oakland? I don't think so and I have my reasons.

On LWS...I've kept up with his posts here and on TOS. I have a lot of respect for what he posts. On TOS, when talking about Hart, he uses terms like "ego", that Hart won't be pushed around and if somebody pushes him he'd walk...which sounds exactly like, almost word for word what Basilio said and blogged about.

LWS is a respected poster here. In this case, there seems to be more than one source, obviously. He's never said Gruden would not happen, he's just not very convinced based on what he's hearing.

It's not about being right or wrong, whether I agree or disagree. He's providing info as he's done many times before and I have much respect for that, especially this time.

If its cowher will yall be be disappointed?

there is No if it's Bill Cower. The big boy s apparently have spoken. I don't see them backing down and I think Gruden thinks he could retire here or rebuild the program here then go win a couple more Superbowls. or get back into broadcasting. It is a perfect opportunity.
