Good. Getting all fired up for gruden is normal. I just hope if he is out we all know it before the next coach is hired so we give that coach a fair chance with our reaction.

I know I am in the minority but I want no part of a coach that's career is on a serious decline and leads the country in surprise losses to huge underdogs the past 5 years.

I want Gruden as much as anyone but I'd definitely take Mora, Petersen, Patterson, Gundy, Mullen and Fitzgerald.

You might end up really disappointed if Gruden is the only hire you'd be happy with. I agree with your three below Mora though. They suck, do not want.

I tihnk we can all agree that there are clearly 2 types of hires at this point. 1) A knock your socks off hire and 2) anything else

I am not sure I would put Patterson or Mullen in the first, but they are both very good coaches who I think would do well here

Coaches I would put in the first (but not necessarily realistic) would be:

Gruden
Stoops
Gundy
Kelly
Del Rio


There may be some tweeners, but anything short of a high profile coach will be difficult to swallow.

This isn't just about getting a good coach. It is a statement hire as well.

I would take him but given his lack of championships in the Big 12 and bordering Texas, I'm not sure what he'll accomplish in the SEC and having to recruit at Tennessee.

I really really think if no Gruden Stoops would be amazing he is proven as a champion at College an awesome recruiter and has as big an ego as Saban which would be pricless to see those two shake hands at the fifty every year lol
