SCTiger-

Heard there are rumors that Chizik might be retained due to the buyout.

True or just some bama fans trying to start something?

I don't think the buyout will be much of an issue and I really don't think Chiz will be retained. BOT is meeting tomorrow and staying through the weekend. After the asswhipping from Bama, hopefully they announce he is gone.

besides Tee being a former great player, why does everyone want him on staff so bad?

what else does he do?

Apparently, everyone thinks he has God-given recruiting talent (think Jalen Ramsey, which I think is blinding everyone).

Don't shoot the messenger. I'm on the same page as you.

Actually, Bear Bryant was Kentucky's best football coach. From 1946-1953, he was 60-23-6 and won the SEC title in 1950. "The 1950 Kentucky team concluded its season with a victory over Bud Wilkinson's #1 ranked Oklahoma Sooners in the Sugar Bowl. . . . Bryant also led Kentucky to appearances in the Great Lakes Bowl, Orange Bowl, and Cotton Bowl Classic. Kentucky's final AP poll rankings under Bryant included #11 in 1949, #7 in 1950, #15 in 1951, #20 in 1952 and #16 in 1953. The 1950 season was Kentucky's highest rank until it finished #6 in the final 1977 AP poll" ( Bear Bryant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ).

Despite his success at Kentucky, Bryant never beat a Neyland-coached Tennessee team.

He's still got some instate relationships. I think most of the board believes he'd deliver the top instate guys not really considering us and some of the legacies of the future. Just guessing that.

I know it's out there on twitter and from what we know Deion Bonner has been suspended indefinitely for violation of team rules and we are looking into it more. Just wanted to confirm those reports.

Been wondering this myself, especially since so many on this board were laughing over his comment of I don't know I never played the position after being asked why his wr's dropped so many balls last year against Florida. Have not seen anything to make me think that he is any better than Hinshaw. I know people try to bring up Tee's connections to Tennessee, but with what Hinshaw is doing now in Florida imagine what he could do if he had a winning program to sell.

Been asking this myself. Completely unproven as a coach. Good recruiter, but UK and USCw receivers have not been anything special.

they have not been special

Robert Woods has fallen off.

NO one else produces.

Qise Lee was a Beast the minute he stepped on campus.
He proved it his Frosh year without Coach Martin.

I'd take Hinshaw over Martin, although our WRs have had some horrible hands at times this year too.

If it "stunned" Tee, what did he expect? We had openings at TE/STC and OL, positions he has never coached, and RB where Jay Graham was clearly a better option.
