My list. (Gruden ain't coming here.)

1.) Strong
2.) Patterson
3.) Taggart
4.) Kingsbury
5.) Tuberville

Not the most attractive, but probably the most realistic list I've seen.

Been saying this all alone. Gruden isn't coming here. Strong and Taggart would be my fist two choices.

Gruden is more realistic than Patterson.

Tubberville is out after going off on the grad assistant on the sideline is the word. Him slapping the headphones off him will cause teams to greatly cool.

Just curious on what everyone else thought, but why are a lot of people high on Al Golden? What did he do besides make Temple somewhat relevant?

I know he did well at Auburn but I do not want TT at all.

I would take probaly 10 (realistic) coaches over him

The 3-4 that saban/kirby runs seems to me like a D that will only work if you just have great talent. They don't have those 5 or 6 nfl ready guys this year and their d is getting exposed a little

Oh yea there d is soo terrible now that they lost one game. Check the stats.:good!:

I tend to disagree. Patterson wanted the job at one point, Gruden is just being smart and checking out the job.

I believe Gruden has returned interest, but he does that for every job that comes open.

I've heard and read a lot about Patterson...sounds unlikely he leaves TCU for any job.

It could turn out that I'm terribly wrong but I just don't see why Gruden would take the job. He just seems to be an NFL coach only. I do believe that we are in better position to get someone that we really want this time around. CDD has at least improve the roster.

There D this year is not as good as the past 3 years.

And Alabama and Saban can recruit better tha anyone we bring here.. so that's why I'm saying I don't like the 3-4 defense in college

If you can't pull ELITE recruits at every level on D, you will struggle

Saban's recruiting at the CB position isn't as good as some think. He relies on juco guys a lot for such pivotal position on his teams. Miliner is the best HS DB he's pulled down there.

They are in on Marlon Humphrey outta Hoover for next years class who could be a very good CB for them.

He was talking about negotiating the terms of his resignation and how and when to take his money.

He has no choice in any of that. It was negotiated before he was hired. Its very cut and dry, he will receive his buyout over the span of 36 months. He got fired, no resignation. I suppose he can come out and call it a resignation, but he is being removed and its not by his choice.

I hear you but they are second in the nation in total d and first in scoring d. How much better can you get?!!

A lot has changed since 2008 with TCU's program. BCS conference, millions spent on new facilities, and I believe Patterson has a much more lucrative contract now.

My biggest problem with Patterson is that, while he gets quality players I don't know if he'll recruit well enough at a place like Tennessee. He would be a good fit at Texas where the program recruits for itself. At Tennessee the coach has to be able to hit the road and really recruit.
