But what if Gruden doesn't want to be hired until December? And what if he doesn't want it to look like he had any part in Dooley's dismissal? What leaked about Gruden was unintentional, IMO. The enormity of the news was the fuel.

If anybody in the media asserts that Dooley was fired because of Gruden interest, the AD should play them a slo-mo video retrospective on the Dooley era, complete with the last 40 seconds of the Missouri game with player and fan commentary, ill-advised time outs, shots of him slamming his cane from all angles, and numerous too many men on the field penalties.
