So...I've read a couple of accounts of the BOT meeting. It appears that the agenda item that was pointed to as instrumental for Hart to be able to hire a big time Coach, such as Gruden, passed. But, now it seems that the agenda item really didn't do anything to help.
I may have missed parts of the discussion that lays out what the BOT meeting really accomplished and if anything came out of it that puts TN in a better position athletically.
Could someone give a synopsis or point me to where the discussion occurs?
Thank you in advance for your help.

"On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me... a signed Gruden contract underneath the tree."(my own version)![]()
On the second day of Christmas my true love sent to me a top 5 recruiting class.
As I understand it, the significance of the BOT mtg was that it brought some influential people together who were able to "educate" Mr. Cheek on the benefits of supporting the Athletic Dept.
It seems today served mainly to move the money to AD control (if I understood)... there was a post about by Hubbs that said Cheek now has a better understanding about the importance of the Ath Dept.
Most believe this was a good sign, some believe it meant little..

Thank you both...hopefully, this will be a new beginning for the AD and we can get back to being relevant. Amazes me that it would ever have to come to this. It seems fairly evident to me that the Athletic Department, and especially football, are extremely important to UT brand...for all students, not just athletes and fans.
