'13 JUCO DT Toby Johnson

Not sure how we can afford to keep an offer on the table to a JuCo Kid who has major knee injury.

sounds cold but it is what it is.

Its not like he has 5 years to play.

He should have committed openly when he had the chance. I agree, I think we need to pass on him.

Bring him in. If he can't play, can we not give him a medical scholly?

He's got a redshirt to burn...the question is do you use a spot towards the 25 in this class and the 85 overall for a guy who won't contribute until 2014

I'll add the five star talent now and worry about it later. We aren't in a position to pass on difference makers at any position, yet alone front seven. I'm sure he has the work ethic to come back after his injury.

Couldn't say it better even if I tried.

This sucks. Without a healthy Johnson this DL class suddenly doesn't look so good with only Carr (not a lock) and Bradley.

We took a dl about 5 years back who tore his acl. Other Florida schools backed away, even though he was top talent. He never did a single thing here. Somebody will bring up his name

I would definitely take Toby Johnson with an injured knee vs Joe Sanders fully healthy!!! And I'm not knocking or degrading Joe Sanders either, but c'mon man!!

Supposedly TJ's injury was on the Marcus Lattimore level of bad. People are worried if he'll ever be able to play football again...

That's terrible, hope for the best TJ

I was just wondering about King, as I was going through that 2009 class. I know he was often injured, but I though that if healthy, we thought he could contribute well this year, and I don't even recall seeing him, in spite of our problems as LB.

He was contributing and playing well his Frosh yr, looked to have a good future then the injuries started---broken elbow (played 10 gms 2009), knee (played 4 gms 2010), both knees (out 2011). This is the first yr he's been / remained healthy, wasn't in the 2 Deep at LB and approached DD about moving, he was moved to TE shortly thereafter. He's learning a new position. Has two yrs (2012 & 2013) remaining to play.

Arthur Jeffery was a 4*, his injury didn't effect his return he just couldn't break into the rotation.
TJ is rated #1 JUCO player, one the best DTs (2012) and is the best DT in JUCO. He's an EE and has 3 to play 2. Given our issues and current recruiting class he's worth the investment. IMO
NOTE: He had an MRI yesterday, waiting to hear the results.
