I think the comment was predicated on Bama beating the Vols by 31 points three years in a row. It's not getting any closer and anyone who's watched the games knows that it easily could've been worse each time. There should be signs of improvement even if they're still kicking the crap out of us.

For some reason, LWS has been way off on this situation for the past month. He's finally getting accurate information.

I don't see how he has been off. He has said big money was there for a while, he just didn't agree it would be Gruden, and I still don't think he does.

The boosters are where 90% of the rumors get started. In the past 2 weeks boosters have mentioned many many coaches like Gruden, Mullens, Malzahn, Davis, Tubbs, Golden and the list goes on and on. Not 1 of those guys will be here if changes arent made up top and finally people are excited that changes may actually happen this time.

I dont think anyone knows what is going on other than Hart and Gilbert, maybe Blackburn. The most damning thing for Dooley imo was the Bama game, Hart was over heard stating we're no closer than 3 years ago as far as competing with elite teams.

When will we know if these necessary changes were approved or not?

No, this isn't what LWS has been saying all along. He has completely changed his tune. He was saying that we may still retain DD, and if he is let go, then UT will not spend big money on a coach, because we never have in the past. I believe he said that Kirby Smart would be Hart's guy if there is a change. Now, LWS is saying winning out may not save DD's job, and that the boosters are now willing to spend the money to get a big name coach here, and everyone is on board. There is way too much smoke for this too not happen, IMO, because now, ALL of those on VN (xcept Skeeter) that seem to be in the know are singing the exact same tune! Change is finally coming for the good of this program...SOON!!!

That is not what I said. This situation has been fluid to say the least, and he has said many different scenarios could happen. Certain things have happened in the last week that have given Hart more room to go get a big name. From what I gather, LWS still doesn't think it is Gruden. The part bolded did change about the time of the Miss St/Bama loss.

i dont think CP Dthomas or Bray belong in the top 50 - that is 1st round to top half of 2nd grade

Jhunt would be closest imo but i would still have him on outside looking in

Jhunt - late 2nd early 3rd
Bray - 3rd
Dthomas - 3rd
CP - 4-5th

CP in the 4-5th round after Darius Heyward Bey went first round. Thomas as a 3rd round OL that can start at 2 positions on the line.

Al Davis isn't drafting players anymore. The same guy that did that also drafted Sabastian Janikowski in the first round.

I see CP going mid second to third round.

and most draft experts said it was quite a reach made by the raiders so i wouldnt use that as the bar - very unpolished WR with good return ability is not usually more than a 4th rounder

Dthomas can't start at tackle in the NFL - he is not quick enough - he was abused at tackle multiple times against speed rushers (see USCjr game with him at tackle) - he is a guard - i think he is a good NFL prospect at guard but guard isnt near as highly valued - in last years draft the 2nd G taken wasnt in top 50 and 3rd guard taken was in 3rd round - i think he is around the 3rd best G avl in the draft - high praise, just rare that a G gets much higher than that w/o truly elite potential

Percy Harvin wasn't a polished WR either. Patterson's potential is what is through the roof and will make his stock shoot up. 6'3 guy running and moving like him makes GMs pull the trigger.

so were only really different on Jhunt and Dthomas

I know i won't get agreement on Jhunt on this board as he has been overvalued since he stepped on campus

but do you think Dthomas is a better OG prospect than Bjones? or everyone else in the country b/c that is what it will take for a G to be in the 1st in many years

I honestly hope they give CP a 4th round grade. If he comes back that would be great! But how many people in college can do what CP does? He is electric with the ball in his hands. He can learn to run routes and read defenses! You can teach speed, height, elusiveness, etc...

ask Dallas how good they are doing teaching Dez to run a route and read a defense
