There was a point where it looked like Bama wouldn't get Saban. is this our Saban moment? Goodness, I hope so. We need a grand slam hire this time around.

I agree completely. The only other person I could see being a bette hire than Gruden is Saban, and that aint happening.

If we dont hire Gruden, I am just not sure where to go at that point. I do know for sure in fact the big guns want a big name that can come in and right a sinking ship.

I'm wondering about Basilio. Last week he was crowing about the push for Gruden and that he didn't think the UT administration had it in them to make the effort they were making. Now, the administration is blocking Gruden. He is all over the place.

It has been said several times, this whole thing is a moving target.

Arky ad was asked about Gruden if I recall correctly about 3-4 weeks ago.

Long stated he was after a coach that was currently coaching or has been coaching recently.

Arkys ad denied going after Gruden.

Butch Davis is the logical hire. All my arky fans know this. And are expecting it.

Obviously talking to different people. I was as excited as anyone when it was close, but with the turmoil there I don't see it happening.

With that said, I am back to ABD. Nothing will be as bad as him staying or god forbid get an extension.

I love all the people who believed rumors as truths, both the good and bad ones. None of this stuff is confirmed. I love watching Internet fans believe things, run with it and exaggerate, and then get brought back to reality.

Jon Gruden might be our next coach. Our administration might be in the can right now. But guess what, we don't know. If you think the AD or school would freely speak about this stuff, even off the record, then I can't help you. Boosters aren't that dumb either.

Also, if you think the Gruden deal was done and then Cheek stepped in at the last minute, then I have beachfront property for you in Iowa.

I have been to 7 of our 9 games this year. UT football is a family connection for me and I feel mental pain when we lose. This whole situation hurts. I hate thinking about it. I am doing my part, so don't even insinuate I love the drama. I just think its hilarious to watch people get so pissed about rumors that have never even come close to being confirmed.
