I just read Basilio's blog for today. I cannot believe that Hart or Cheek are actually advocating another year of Dooley. I'm sorry, I just can't. Nobody in their right mind could look at that stadium (on homecoming for Gruden's sake), and be on board with allowing this to continue into next year.

The only thing that makes sense is that they are letting him finish the year while they quietly line up his successor. Anything else would be a travesty and should be grounds for immediate firing.

Is this all just smoke?

Never said that to be a fact, it was inserted to point out two sides of the spectrum, that Hart had good intentions and it didn't work or (for those that subscribe to it) the thought that something is amiss...that's all.

That's why I said ....dunno...:thumbsup:

The Haslams run the show. Bill, as governor, is chair of the BOT. The family is the biggest donors in UT history.

If the UT scene is as been described in depth now, then it would certainly make sense to work out some sort of arrangement for a Haslam backed/constructed team to take over.

What Academia needs to realize is that when athletics are successful more money flows and is there for both. The problem is academia does'nt realize suppport of athletics is good for both.

Its like a HS band director once told me, "People don't come to see the football team, they come on Friday nights to see the band." He was quickly told, "you charge $6.00 a ticket next Friday night and see just how many people show up!"

We're cool. I apologize for misinterpreting your post. Somehow I have become one of the most polarizing posters on this board, and it gets old. I'm just a UT fan that shares what I am told and attempts to add to the discussion.

Why would anyone think that Boro, OV, DTO, Bcarter, SBV, ect would intentionally lie? It seems to me that they would be climbing extremely far out on the limb if they knowingly put out false info. When did Ainge or Basilio become the legitimate sources of information, are they not reporting information from their insiders? If things fall through I would still hope that Boro, OV, DTO, Bcarter, SBV, ect will share whatever information they glean. Until something different is officially reported I will cling to their information. Gruden soon.
