I doubt Payton signs with anyone except the Saints. Stranger things have happened though. I was wondering if it could have something to do with the possible future job vacancy for the Titans.

I hope Payton stays, but it would not surprise me at all if he wanted to move closer to his kids. Gruden is a QB guy...imagine the opportunity to work with Drew Brees...

Agree, some people enjoy the act of pointing out someone being wrong too much.

Thing is we are discussing an aspect of Vols football. We are anonymous lol, credibility means nothing. If something happened to screw it up, nothing anyone said is proven wrong. Maybe he watched our defense Saturday and said WTF I'm not getting into that. Who knows what happened.

For the record....nobody is backpedalling. I've not heard anything outside of Ainges show to change my mind.

Reporting absolute facts is not what they.

They all are stirring the pot with rumors trying to draw listeners to their shows.

It is fun and exciting to some to listen to.
Some people put a tremendous amount of faith in what the " former players" are saying. It is best to take anything said on TSR with a grain of salt.

The problem I have is that I've seen several post from so called insiders who said they were 100% sure Gruden would be here. Guess not huh

I'm not reveling in anything. I just find it humorous. I want Gruden to be our head coach like nobody's business, I just can't help but find it comical when people make definitive statements about a situation they truly have no way of knowing for certain about. It's the same thing in recruiting. Things change. It ain't over til it's over.

The biggest problem at this point is Dooley.

If they don't get rid of him, then its acceptable to go into full meltdown mode. I will be disappointed with anyone but Gruden, but will get over it as long as we fire Dooley and hire a good coach.
