Sometimes no response is the best response, which is the case in our situation right now i believe.. Either we can do what UK is doing right now, which is say that Dooley will no be the coach next season and start another "coaching search". The problem with that, is at UT if we were to go that route, we would be spending time figuring out who would be our coach, who's turning us down, who has no interest in the job, all while recruits sit in limbo as well.
What i think we're probably doing, and what is the best approach is to stay quiet on the situation and continue to feel things out and get our (Big Name Coach) lined up BEFORE we come out and say Dooley is gone. This, unlike UK's situation would be able to provide us with a seamless transition... Dooley walks out the door, in walks the next guy, signs his contract and we're done..
It's logical, and would only work to our advantage IF it is a homerun hire.. (such as Gruden).. Would be a seamless transition, recruits would be more likely to jump ONboard instead of OFF, and we start the next era of Tennessee Football. Simple.
