Sometimes no response is the best response, which is the case in our situation right now i believe.. Either we can do what UK is doing right now, which is say that Dooley will no be the coach next season and start another "coaching search". The problem with that, is at UT if we were to go that route, we would be spending time figuring out who would be our coach, who's turning us down, who has no interest in the job, all while recruits sit in limbo as well.

What i think we're probably doing, and what is the best approach is to stay quiet on the situation and continue to feel things out and get our (Big Name Coach) lined up BEFORE we come out and say Dooley is gone. This, unlike UK's situation would be able to provide us with a seamless transition... Dooley walks out the door, in walks the next guy, signs his contract and we're done..

It's logical, and would only work to our advantage IF it is a homerun hire.. (such as Gruden).. Would be a seamless transition, recruits would be more likely to jump ONboard instead of OFF, and we start the next era of Tennessee Football. Simple.

Great post. As painful as it is, I feel this is what's going down.

Great post. As painful as it is, I feel this is what's going down.

No matter the hire, going about it this way (waiting to fire Doolz until you have the next coach lined up) makes it appear to recruits/fans/media etc that you "know what you're doing" (whether you do or not).

It sucks waiting to hear on Dooley for now but if a seamless transition IS what occurs, it makes the program seem less like the proverbial dumpster fire that it has been.

This Gruden thing is the only thing keeping me distracted from my relationship of many years falling apart.

But I am 100% positive the Grude is coming. Keep the faith, stay strong. Know that our Vols will be back to national prominence.

Sorry to hear that. I hope everything works out.

I might have missed something. Why are a few of us talking about the Grudens owning land in Dandridge? Isn't that really old news? However, I did read where a poster heard from someone who heard from someone else that Gruden was in contact with a real estate agent this week looking for a new home, for whatever that's worth. I doubt I'm dropping any science one anyone here with that nugget of gossip, either.

I honestly think I was ready when I first saw the orange pants.

Also when it was evident that this coaching staff didn't believe in second-half adjustments. Soooo, Year Zero.

I didn't like the hire from the moment he was announced, but there was no choice but to roll with it and 2010 was terrible. 2011 we got worse and now we are at that same level of suck.
