There needs to be some sort of psychological study done somewhere on why coaches to this in both college and professional football. I'm dead serious. You change something that had been working for the entire game and it costs you the game. It happens all the time, over and over again, and Chavis is one of the biggest offenders.

Same old Chavis. Hopefully this will quiet any thoughts of bringing him back to the Hill. We dumped him for a reason. Of course the replacements have been much worse (Kiffin/Wilcox/Sunseri).

Love the idiots ragging on Chavis like he's a horrible DC. Give me a break. He light years beyond Sal. I mean, for Gods sake...Sal's defense looks like they're playing prevent defense the whole game.

True, he is way better than 40 point Sal. But its still the same 'ol Chavis!

LOL! He only won assistant coach of the year last year.

Yes, it's his special weakness to freeze up and overdo the prevent at the end of one close game every year or two. But I'd take him back in a heartbeat. Frankly, a good HC could or should recognize and overide that tendency. IYAM.

Watching Nick Saban on ESPN just now and he stated that LSU did what Bama expected them to do on defense at the end of the game. Translation: LSU went into its patented Chavis prevent when the game was on the line and Bama took advantage and won.

If Chavis was here we would still be b!tch!n' about the prevent at the end and "third and Chavis". We the fans haven't changed a bit.

I warned a local big time LSU fan that when the game is on the line 'Third and Chavis' will let the opponent march down the field with a cushion defense. We saw it all the time here. He has had the benefit of outstanding athletes to overshadow his foolhardy philosophy.

Remember how he cost us the Cal game out there? We score to go ahead with a little over a minute to go and the fool goes into the prevent. If that wasn't enough, when Cal gets to our three yard line the idiot has our corners stand in the CENTER of the end zone. Remember the offensive coordinator on television when they panned a shot of him seconds before that last play? He was laughing because Chavis gave them a gift touchdown....he saw that coming. The QB just raised up and zipped it out to the receiver for the easiest touchdown you would ever see.

Third Down Chavis......the fool will never learn.

prevent what ? getting a dirty uniform ?? Sal is a dimwit for trying to install his scheme without the recruits for it -- same thing happened with Clawson and its happening at Auburn with Malzahns replacement -- dont these guys get it ?

Chavis is good, but everyone has bad habits. The final Alabama drive was only possible because LSU played too much soft defense and then Alabama had a perfect call when LSU tightened it up. LSU was greatly outcoached there. You couldn't dial up a better drive if you knew the exactly what defense was called.

Bama played the same defense on LSU's last drive, play 3 drop 8
Miles gambled on every other special teams play and lost every one!

Technically incorrect. Kiffin dumped him when he brought in his dad.
