I put the problems on the pass first offensive philosophy. It challenges the opposition to take risks to match it and we end up playing in Big 12 style offensive shoot-outs. Without the necessary speed of defense the great teams run past us and without the ability to dominate through ball control the mediocre teams stay with us.

I agree with this. It's the same kind of thing going on with the Saints and Patriots defenses. Time of possession and ball control are key to helping your defense. The no huddle offense is not helping the D. They need to adjust that. The D needs all the help they can get. More time to make adjustments on the sidelines is not a bad thing.

After he killed our secondary people were pumping him up. I told them he was nothing. He was nothing in HS. He would quit back then. He's going to quit tonite if he has to win it(barring some shenanigans).

BB, while I respect your talent evaluation... Kiffin wanted McCarron more than anyone at the time. McCarron has done fairly decent... Just sayin... Before you get salty, I called B. Moore as being a bust after watching a few high school games of his in Cali...

McCarron is playing in the easiest system you can find for a QB.

SN: Chavis switched his defense up for what reason I don't know. This QB can't throw against tight coverage. You've got to be shxttin me.

Agreed. I have always said, Chavis has benefited from tremendous athletes. I only threw the B. Moore reference because at the time, I could only reference Southern Cali recruits (not a hot bed for Tenn). McCarron benefits from a talented team, BUT he was quality coming out of high school. Enough so, that Saban told him if he visited Kiffin, scholarship offer would be essentially off the table.

The problem with this is that the defense can't make any stops. In hindsight, it is silly that we put up 44 against Georgia and lost. I know we got some turnovers, but 3 runs of 50+ yards. The offense has nothing to do with 3rd and goal from the 26 against USC. If we make that stop, we might win the game. Defense could not slow diwn Mississippi State at all. We did have some 3 and outs on offense but we gave up a 6 minute drive to end the game. You think LSU's offense has helped their defense? Just crazy how bad the defense is. I have no faith in them stopping anyone. Don't know how we turned over NC State. Georgia State was a sign when they moved down the field and converted several 3rd and longs.
