So you are saying the boosters like fly fishing....cool.

Does anybody else have Dish? I know Direct TV is the preferred provider on the board, but I have had nothing but good experiences with Dish.

I am moving in January and if this deal gets pulled off, I will switch to Dish. :crossfingers:

Two questions that I keep going back to with things I am hearing on here.

What would attendance have to do with DD finishing the year out?

An interim coach on the sidelines wouldn't improve attendance much at all IMO

Why would Gruden care about keeping the media attention off of him so he can finish out MNF?

It seems to me the more attention he gets the more the ratings go up for espn. I suggest the opposite is the case and he really wants the attention thats why you see a school like this every year with him

If true, wouldn't Gruden start piling up a heap of enemies? Word would get around, wouldn't it?

On the attendance question.....I don't think it plays into the question of Dooley finishing out the year. I think, and this is only my opinion, it may be
an effort to placate some of the boosters who like Dooley, and did not want to rush him out the door.

As far as the question of the cover-up on Gruden....I don't know who or why, but its what somebody involved wants.

Sounds like somebody just wants to slow play his hand. I kind of like that.

Absolutely.fly fishing rocks.

I may reconsider my satellite provider if all this works out.

In other news....Jay on the Ainge show has been reading this thread. He just mentioned reading the house hunting rumor that we discussed here yesterday.

Hi Jay....you too Erik! Great show!

Nothing to do with your response, but how's that GE rental fridge functioning? I was concerned after i opened my big mouth the other day.:ermm:

It's keeping things cool. Just waiting on them to get the new one fixed. It's tiny. It's also forcing me to cook supper every night at the resturant of my wife's choosing.

Who knows? But a Super Bowl winning celebrity coach will bring a lot more personal capital to spend than a failed WAC coach. That certainly will buy him more patience than we had with Dooley.

Also, while certainly only speculation on my part, I think you'll see improved recruiting based only on his name...at least for a while. Improved skill players will help the transition and hopefully lead us to the success we are looking for.

I think this is spot on. Part of what helped Saban be so successful at Alabama was that he immediately brought a shot of adrenaline to a decent, but not great program.

He attracted a few top recruits based on name alone, which allowed him to overcome some other deficiencies in the program. Once they started winning, then good players wanted to play at Alabama. Now it is this self-sustaining machine that we see.

Gruden has the moxy to do exactly that. He will get some players in here that will have an immediate impact on top of the pretty decent roster we have now. I don't expect him to win 10 games next year, but it would not surprise me to see him win 10-11 games in his second year. Our schedule will be more forgiving, and he will have what should be a damn good roster.

Hi Jay....you too Erik! Great show!

Royalties should be paid.......:)

They have a dang good show.

Didn't Kamara basically say somewhere that he would commit to Gruden sight unseen?

I saw that somewhere on here too. Kamara and Green as RB's for this class just doesn't get much better. I wonder if they keep Ferguson as the QB for the class or if he goes after another guy he may like better. I know with his ties to Dilfer and him running the elite 11 if maybe he talks to Trent and picks his brain. Of course I'm sure Gruden has already started evaluating players. But I wonder if the kid committed to S.Fl could be an option. Very curious and excited to see the elite players he could bring in long term and this year.

I had Dish for years, loved it,but the whole AMC
debacle made me switch to Direct TV,I wasn't going to
miss the last year of Breaking Bad and the Walking Dead...and really like the record 5 HD shows at once on the new DVR...but I like the Dish DVR functions better...

Hi Jay....you too Erik! Great show!

I just caught that also. I have often wondered if any of the radio guys are actually on this board. Who would ever know?

Wait...I'm caught up?? I'm actually caught up and can have a life that doesn't involve staring at a computer screen? I can shower? Go take a dump without the iPad? Find out how my kids are doing in school? Make sure I am still married???

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Wait, I just need to refresh to make sure I am COMPLETELY caught up...

To piggyback on that (calm down Arky people!), I think fundamentals would improve and penalties would decline. One of the really nice things about Kiffin's year was discipline on both sides of the ball for most of the year. Throw in a few really nice recruits and we will be up and winning..uh, I mean running...in no time.

Kh, I only saw when reading back through that you are wanting to come to Ireland. I have been here since 2001 and will probally stay considering my wife and kids are from here. You should try and go, great place.

Its hard to tell in my avi but the is the pride of the southland band marching in the paddy's day parade in Dublin.
What kind of music were they playing in the parade? Irish music, or fight songs?

Agreed on the attendance issue.

keeping things under wraps is an issue that is a red flag for me. I dont believe that

Got great news the minute I walked into work this morning from the kind of people you want to hear it from. Again, not my direct information but now a second person claims to have seen the MOU, and that it contains an "unprecedented" compensation package for the NCAA. Also was the second person that should know that confirmed the talks started getting serious when Denver played Atlanta in Atlanta on MNF and a certain booster and Johnny Majors flew down and met with Gruden.

They went on to say that just Monday there was a phone call between Dooley and a certain "mega booster" that got quite heated and resulted in Dooley hanging up the phone. Supposedly this is one of the things that cleared the way and got Cheeks fully on board.

Could be just another rumor but is in line with everything else I have heard. Also this guy has never said anything directly to me about it, but it came up in a private meeting this morning. This is one of the people I wanted to hear this from, because it is the least likely person I know to make up something like this. He stated it as a fact, and in our business relationship and the people he said it in front of it could be majorly detrimental if made up. He is 100% convinced Gruden is coming. I am 99%.

I am confused, did this happen this past Monday or is this the call that was rumored to have happened a few weeks ago? Sorry, I am just confused about that.

I was just thinking yesterday about what role Majors would have in this with his ties to Gruden, I thought he would be all in. I believe they have maintained a relationship throughout the years and I think Majors even went to Bucs practice at some point, maybe pre-Super Bowl.

That's ok. Remember, none of us are trying to convince anyone. We have reasons to believe what we do. It'll all come out in the end.

I do believe you are over-thinking it. But that is your prerogative.
