Official Jon Gruden Thread IV

Word around here is Gundy if Gruden doesn't happen. No idea if it's valid but I didn't think that was a requirement for this thread. Discuss!

Gruden likes UT more than the NFL.

Do you not understand how crazy that sounds? He works in the NFL it's all he's known. This talk is mass hysteria and everyone has a source that has Gruden fever. It's overboard. We are a laughing stock right now because of this talk. It's not going to happen. And if it does, I'll be the first to come back to this thread or it's 13th version of it and say I was wrong. But I won't be.

I wish I could throw myself into believing this stuff, but I can't. I allowed myself to for a time but when the administration failed to fire Dooley after the USC game I lost faith. I don't believe for a second that all of these rumors are true.

Will we go after Gruden? Yeah. And feelers have already been put out there, but Jon will have an opportunity to coach in the NFL if he wants to coach again so any contract we offer him will just give him leverage for more money in the NFL.

I was a Grudenite for awhile. Now I'm not even convinced Dooley is gone after the year. We may just keep him another year. Hart might think he knows better than all of us.

C'mon on now little fellar, all will be well SOON

Yes I was, things were revealed to me today from my source who is not on any chat boards, he does however own a skybox and his family are long term donors and know several "old time" donors.

I'm really not going to say much more about this, once this is all said and done, props need to be given out to Boro, OV and DTO. These are the guys who broke the story here first.
Actually SVB was the first, but the ones you mention have been consistent in their post.

I kid.

LOL Gman. But I hope you're right and I'm wrong, but I'm not going to buy into this blindly and just get disappointed. Every orange part of me wants to believe this is true but my common sense tells me to keep away. I can't stay away from this thread though.

I remember just a few years back when Bama was a laughing stock... all that crazy talk about Saban leaving Miami....besides he said he was not even talking to Bama or anyone...........how did that work out

Do you think maybe he's tired of the Business aspect of the NFL? It's all speculation. There can be points made for both, but Gruden is the only one who knows.

Would it be fair to assume that "soon" is before January ??

I'm more concerned myself about get rid of Dooley and getting a kick @ss recruiting class.

I was talking to a Kentucky fan (slowly with little words) and he was putting us on the level of Wisconsin, Ok State, ect, in regards to where we stand all time. He said Gruden would never come to a place like Tennessee. Then he said with a straight face...

I have a friend who is a realtor in Kentucky and he told me Sean Peyton just bought 200 acres in KY.

I will act a fool if King Gruden comes to the top.

Ah yes, Kentucky fans. The "I dont care about football" crowd that always has something to say about football. In 02', they told me Parcells was done deal, last year it was Urban Meyer, this year it is Petrino. Now, Sean Payton? Funniest suggestion yet. Listened last night to their call in show and they were talking Fulmer and Cutcliffe and many were on board with either but concerned about age and Fulmer being out of the game for 4 years

not sure didnt hear that. It said he violated team rules. I doubt it was for going to grandmas funeral. That would be some low down shizzzz.

I wouldn't be surprised. It fits Dooley's MO. How many times did he call Cody Pope out in the media for being soft- referring it as "only a stinger"- only to find out that he had a serious neck injury that ended his playing career at UT. Not directed at you at all, but: but but but he's such a nice guy with a southern drawl and orange pants.....

Dude's an ass.
