Wow! SMH. What kind of fan base would rather blame their coach than recognize the other team for a good play. Dooley and staff did their job, but USC made a good play. Heaven forbid if the other team does their job. Dooley is not the incompetent fool many on here think that he is. I HATE loosing a much a the next guy, but we need to recognize Dooley isn't the reason for this loss.

I agree that, even with winning out, CDD's days are probably numbered. At the same time, I have a hard time agreeing with every idiot that thinks the only thing between UT and Gruden is having CDD on the payroll. Even if we have a homerun replacement lined up, how likely is it that he's ready to show up for work on Monday. Not directed at you but a general statement for all the HR geniuses out there that know exactly how to handle UT's coaching search.

The real question is whether it is more lack of talent or a coaching problem.

I tend to side with the lack of talent.

first of all, if it is lack of talent, who recruits that talent.

secondly, this is the most talent weve had overall since 07 probably. 9 of our offensive starters are probably going to get drafted. along with a couple of our defensive starters

Look, I am excusing the defensive coaching staff. However, at some point, you guys have to realize that we really have no talent on the side of the ball.

Terrible players (comparatively to the top teams in the SEC) will make coaches appear worse than they really are.

You're not even thinking rationally now.

They have done a decent job recruiting given the situation we are in. We just are not at the level to play with the big boys yet on defense.

We have a very talented offense, and a semitalented defense. Weve only been out talented against bama. We can't tackle, we miss open passes, drop balls, and leave guys open. That's not a talent issue at all. It's all coaching here.

Oh, so coaches are responsible for recruiting but not responsible for the talent we have.

Actually our defense probably has 3 to 4 guys that will be drafted into the NFL. Johnson, Maggit, McCullers, Sentimore all will probably play in the NFL. It's coaching. I do believe we have a lack of talent and speed in the secondary but they always look out of place and confused which to me is coaching.
