is that what its come down to? being ecstatic with our punt returns because two years ago we couldnt field punts.
thats pretty much par for the course for Tennessee Football. lowered expectations because of recent missteps.
Go Big Orange, lets do just a little bit better than our previous failures!

Safe bet Dungy wouldn't have won the SB.
It has more to do with stability and progress. Some of us fans are tired of the turnover and instability and not willing to keep supporting that. The O line has been bashed the last couple of yrs and now it's doing really well. When every facit of the program needed repair at one pt it's good to see clear improvement in important spots. Then the coaches can move the focus given to that repaired area to others.
Agree or disagree with giving cdd time to see it through dont sit here and bash fans that are willing to see it through. Cause it can come around just as easily.
What are you guys seeing through to is the question? The team looks worse against top competition after three years than it did with less talent. We are regressing except for the OL, RBs, and DBs. That's a major red flag in my book.
I have to admit, this is a first for me.
I will NEVER root against my team but I'm afraid of any scenario that leads to DD & co. coming back next year. Baring us absolutely demolishing SC tomorrow; we needed to show *consistent* improvement against the best competition on our schedule and, while there were glimpses, it just wasn't consistent enough and FAR too often we looked out-coached more so than "out-talented."
SN: I heard Jimmy Hyams on 104.5 this AM say that he didn't think the job was any more attractive now than it was 3 years ago when DD took over.
Is he f'ing kidding?!? 3 years ago we had students burning effigies of Kiffin in the streets, a roster that would make swiss cheese look like a brick wall, and barely enough talent to compete with UAB, Kentucky, & Vanderbilt.
Granted, our W-L record over the past 3 years is pathetic but you can't convince me that a GOOD HC couldn't come in here and have this team AT THE VERY LEAST competing with the SEC elite next year.
If the atmosphere before the Florida game doesn't showcase that this is a DESTINATION job, then I don't know what does....we just haven't won in 5 years and our image has been tarnished by a malaized and nearly-apathetic Fulmer, a HC who was all flash and no substance, and another HC who--under normal circumstances--would have hardly been considered for the position....with the right HC (JG, PLEASE!!!) UT can once again be a powerhouse of college football.
...Jimmy Hyams can suck it.
doug martin and josh freeman gettin us back on trackepper:
gruden would of brought in another 35 yr old QB lol
To win a Super Bowl? I have been a Buc fan since I was very young. They have exactly 1 SB. Get mad at Gruden all you want. He wasn't the only reason that team dropped off. The roster was aging when he got there and they have up a ton of draft picks to get him. Soon after he arrived the ownership tightened the payroll.
Sorry to interrupt, but linked is an incredible story about AU corner Joshua Holsey and his father, an active duty amputee from Iraq. It is worth reading regardless of which team you support. God bless our troops!

Could this have been said last yr??
I'm a firm believer that a good rebuild will have its major regression period. IMHO it shows that the negatives that caused the issues are getting purged. Then the scab will finally come off and the fresh new skin will be better. The take a step back to take 2 forward mindset.
We agree to disagree on all this, but some of us look at things differently. Some of us are more patient and want the foundation built solid so that we don't have to go through all this again in a few yrs. Others want turnover now which has a higher probability that we are stuck in this for many more yrs and maybe with no end in site.
I stated this in the Corn Elder thread. #19 shouldn't be on scholarship and was a miss waiting to happen
