Official Jon Gruden Thread III

So that the thread can discuss something besides refresh what do people think Gruden's strengths and weaknesses would be as a CFB coach. I believe initially recruiting is the big big winner. We still play in a very tough conference though is everyone sold he can win huge? You lay out the kind of terms being tossed around and expectations are way past 9-10 wins IMO. Obviously that's a decent start from where we are but championship expectations would be almost immediate. Since he hasn't been a coach in years and not a CFB HC anyone got reservation of him being the panacea so many believe?

....and the NegaGrudes arrive right on time.

Do you guys sync your alarm clocks, or do you all live together?

'Boro-vol, my source says monday the hammer drops if we lose this weekend, and it could be sunday if we get hammered.

Your thoughts?

Did you not read the part that Gruden has contacted possible assistants???? Thanks for the post, I'm more confident now!

I read that he is looking at a college staff and a NFL staff.

I just think when it gets down to it Gruden will go back to NFL before he tries out college.

JMO.

Grudinites are foolish for thinking a coach may come here who has interest in us and we have interest in him.

Negegruds are logical because they think a coach who is only undefeated against Vandy may win this week, or win out and get another year.

The hypocrisy is strong in this one.

I'm just more of a wait and see kinda person. It would be great but we have to stick with what we have until we can get what we need.

I really like Hubbs, but these reporter guys are also trying to stay on the AD good side in these situations. They don't want to be left out when a new regime comes in. Their job depends on it.

Stupid.

Hubbs would say something if he knew it. As would any reporter worth a damn.

Yes, but he went straight to your moms house.

If you want my autograph, just ask. You don't have to follow me like this.

I'm afraid if I stop quickly, you're going to break your nose.

You're like a bad car wreck. It's tough to turn away. I feel confident that once your source is wrong again you'll disappear and it won't be an issue.

It gets so immature here at times, I get pissed too lol. I am in a high stress line of work, and higher than usual right now. I misspoke once and one poster in particular began to troll me and it just got old. I have no investment in anything other than loving my Alma Mater so much I moved back here to live after several years away after school.

I haven't insulted anyone that I remember to deserve to be called out in that way, have only relayed what I have heard, and have never spoken in absolutes about Gruden because those that talk to me haven't spoken in absolutes. The only absolute I know for sure is that Dooley is no longer the HC at UT regardless of him being on the sidelines one more game or 5 more games. He has burned that bridge. Gruden is very very likely imo, but havent heard personally it is a done deal. I HAVE heard the same thing that was posted yesterday. If he does sign this deal, we will be stuck with him for a long time. He apparently is not looking for a stepping stone back into the NFL, he is looking for a job and organization he can retire from. Everyone reaches that point, and the things people say make me believe that is the case for him now.

I will continue to post what I hear, got a little crazy in here and does during the day. Mornings and late nights are a little more tolerable. The bi-polar aspect of this thread in the daytime posters blows my mind. Let it go 30 minutes without a solid prediction and all of a sudden its not happening lol. I blame that on the 24 hour news cycle lol.

Nice to see you back man!

I've been told that from the beginning, but the negotiations on the buyout may slow that down. They may leverage the situation and let him sit.

The original timeline though was after USCe.

Ok, so I came into the office to enjoy the quality of these posters, and it lasted 25 minutes before the trolls come in and hi-jack the thread doing nothing but calling folks out. You do not have to hang out in here, there are tons of other threads with like minded folks in which you can call each other out, throw hissy fits, and then give reach arounds too with out coming in here and crapping the bed. Just saying, the Grudenites are a peaceful loving bunch of folks, let 'em be.

It is amazing how the more confident the guys with sources become, the more naysayers come out. The guys with sources have a lot going for them and many have even said that they would openly come and apologize if there info was incorrect. However the naysayers come and debate with no sources simply saying that a school like UT should not be in the same sentence with a guy like Gruden, and they downgrade the tradition and value of our university.

Their attempt to debate is like bringing a pocket knife to a gun fight and they expect us to believe them more than the ones with sources. In my opinion it is either hating or trolling when you spew garbage without any real info.
