Says he believes 100 percent Dooley is done but doesn't believe a deal is in place even though people he trusts and likes say it is but stuck to the word that we are going after Gruden really hard

Sorry to be late to the party... But is this most likely for real? There are a few people I buy into on this site and SBV is certainly one of them. I read the first 9 pages just now, but have not read any further. Can someone give me a thread update so to speak please? This is huge...Alright.. that's what she said

I've made it very clear that I don't pretend to know what's going to happen here. Is UT going to talk Gruden out of the booth with an offer he can't refuse? Is there such a thing as an offer he will accept? I don't know. We don't know. Nobody knows. What's the deal? I don't know. And I'm not pretending to. I do know that UT loves, covets and wants Gruden to lead this program in 2013. What I don't know is how Gruden sees this courtship. Is he only flattered? Is he seriously considering leaving the booth for Knoxville? I don't know. And I'm not pretending to know!

I think it's as good as done. I put alot of trust in those that say it is.

Wow...I'm excited, yet somewhat numb (and skeptical) to this whole thing because I guess I'm so over it the past couple of seasons. I just really can't believe it's going down like this. To me...it's truly unbelievable.

SBV said it was a done deal. Excitement abounds. After a while the thread was infiltrated by Dooley loving vollyannas and hand-wringing ensued. Later OCI said he confirmed with another "source" and placed a ban bet with himself (why, I don't know) that this was getting done. Hope this helps.

If you really think about big time college athletics as a whole, specifically the SEC, it really can't go down any other way for UT. We are sandwiched between UK's basketball program and Bama's football program...what else could we possibly do to get ourselves out of this shlt hole except hire a grand slam!!!

If we don't do it now, someone else will and we will be that much further behind. It's a must win situation for us and Dave Hart is stepping up to the plate with a huge bat!!!

HA! Vollyannas! I like that term. Dead on. Had a confrontation yesterday morning with one of those. He went back and put his head in the sand I think.

We got lucky with CQM in BB, an by adding Gruden to the family...we will be where we are supposed to be. We just had to catch up with the times...and here we go!!

Vollyanna was coined in the first Gruden thread. I can't take credit for that one but I do enjoy using it.

You are right. There is no other choice but for us to enter big time football again. Can't believe people are still naive enough to think Dooley might stay OR that we aren't trying our damnest to hire a big time coach.
