Most of the Grudenites in the Gruden thread have all said it's pretty much a done deal and even SBV posted this just a few minutes ago...

I have full confidence that an agreement has been reached. It's done.

Jon Gruden will be the next head football coach at the University of Tennessee.

Wow.

Wow.

For the love of my health I hope it's true..and I've been in Dooley's corner since day one..still am. But if chucky would come here, you gotta get Dooley out now.

"The future is definitely bright at corner."

That's beautiful, man.

I find it funny that we are making these moves so late. Muschamp and Saban would've went young early on. The trio of Gray, Bonner, and Coleman would be somewhat seasoned by now. Also McNeil over Brewer at safety shouldn't have taken long either. I think Coleman at the Star would be an upgrade from Gordon. Then allow Bonner and Gray to play on the outside in our 5 DB sets. Going young in the secondary is not an issue when you have talent and the older guys aren't giving you a choice.

SN: funny how the Daniel Gray take has played out after a lot of posters dogged him. :)

I'm a huge fan of Dooley, but again, I admit Jon Gruden at Tennessee would be awesome.

I want to see dooley succeed here. Cannot stand for another coaching change. I mean damn, when will it end?

On the other hand gruden is interesting. Even though SBV has said that.. I will believe it when I see it.

I will believe it when I hear Dave Hart make the announcement that Derek Dooley has not been retained and that Gruden has actually been hired. Until then, we have a football game to be played on Saturday.

Wow.

I'm still a Dooley fan, but if he's gone, Gruden is an exciting name.

Edit: Sig Nu, I swear I didn't copy you.

I am not any coaches' nutswinger, but outside of Fulmer and any of his old cronies, I will support any coach at UT.
