Dooley will not be the coach next season.

The man had an affair. Millions of men do it every year. He got caught and has paid the price. Did he murder someone? Kidnap a child? I get it is wrong. I get that some like to hang a person for making a mistake. I would also bet alot of the ones saying he is scum would give one of our coaches a pass in a heartbeat if he were married and cheated on his wife. Is he a risk? Maybe he is. I watched the presser he did with ESPN in August and IMO, the man deserves another chance. Some team WILL hire him and they WILL win. Hart could hire Petrino and protect UT at the same time.

Are you 12? Go look at Petrino's entire body of work and all you will find is one indiscretion after another.

I have a hard time understanding why a majority of posters here think hiring jon gruden is a good idea. He is a really good coach and tv personality but Tennessee needs someone who is winning right now in major college football. Gruden did win a superbowl. What some fail to realize is he won it with tony dungys team. Remember who he beat in that game? Ill give you a minute ... did you get it right? It was the raiders. He beat them pretty good too. Crazy thing is that the raiders were his team just the year before! Amazing I know. Makes you think doesn't it. Seriously though. All jokes aside, we need a chip kelly( who in my opinion would at least listen. It has to be intriguing to him to coach in the sec and against the defenses our conference has) or chris Peterson. What he has done at boise is very impressive. Charlie strong wouldn't be bad. He's gonna be here next year anyway(the sec) most likely at arky. I could keep going but here's the point. We have lost our winning edge as a program and fanbase. We don't need excitement or flashy sh#t to win. We just need a guy who only knows one way to play the game. Destroy your opponent every game and do it the right way. That's what Saban does every week. Gruden is funny ill give you that. But so is Dooley. How's that worked out for us?

Leaving Atlanta and Louisville the way he did mean nothing to me. A school/NFL team can drop a coach at any time for anything. A coach should be able to leave on his terms at anytime if he wants to. If he had a buyout, he can pay it and move on. If I wanted to quit my job tomorrow, it is my right to do so. People do what they think is best for them. Kiffin left us in a bad spot. It happens all the time. Didn't Dooley leave Tech right before NSD? That was ok though right? Was Dooley not under contract with Tech? Is he a scum bag for leaving them? Coaching is a cut throat business and coaches are smart to do what they think is best for them. JMO

#1 team in the nation.

44 points against UGA.
31 points against MSU.
20 points against UF.

Don't be an idiot.

Give me a convincing argument that the offensive stats for the second half are better than what the numbers say since Chaney has become OC. You cannot pull three games from an entire pool of terrible offensive performances and say Chaney is not the problem. Even the second half in the UF game was a catastrophe.

I think Chaney is more of an issue than Dooley. At the very least, Chaney must go.

Umm, no. The affair was the least of it. He then hired his mistress into a position with the athletic department, then lied about it.

He won't be the coach here.

You are forgetting one very important factor that makes it much worse.

The giving here a job part? No, I know all about it. The giving her $$ part? Isn't that what guys do when they "think" they care about someone? It was a mistake. The man has paid for it. His wife is working through it with him. Seems she would know a little bit about the situation.

His legacy of anus goes back much further....,do a search on him.....stabbed his mentor Tubberville in the back.....deserted his team in Atlanta with a note.....he's garbage

Amazing.

What part of we scored enough to win 3 of the 4 games we lost do you not understand. Why are you not busting Sunseri's chops for not keeping the other team from scoring so much?

So is Hillary Clinton. Patreno is scum.

As much as he may not be "the guy". I would never put "jacking up the program" at Dooley's feet. All bile aside, we still have lost to the #1, 2, 11 and 12 teams in the nation (as of yesterday). Our talent level is clearly increased over 3 years ago. Hoepfully the next guy can get the actual Ws.

I'm not going to argue over this. I say he did, you and two others say he didn't. That's fine, we will agree to disagree.

No idiot. I get it. The offense has been good. IMO it could be better with better calls at certain times. Rhythm seems to get killed at times.

So the offense could have been better, even though it produced more than enough points to win 3 of the 4 losses we've had, but you want to piss and moan about it?

Of course my list would be different than "The List".

Peterson 4.2 Million
Patterson 4.2 Million
Gruden 5.2 million(He would not come for less IMO)
Petrino 2.85 million(The best value)
Whittingham 3.2 million
Strong 3.5 million
Smart 2.0 million

Not the best value, if by value you mean max quality for min cost. Just the cheapest.

Didn't his pro players hate him, along with everything else?
