To me, this hits the nail on the head.
In my opinion he wasn't ready, and I think he's gotten better, but he also didn't come looking for the job either. We were in tough straits.
it's hard to feel bad for a man making that much money, but given the situation he walked into and his experience, I don't know that he ever had a chance. Maybe he'll pull off a miracle and prove me wrong.

I know right. The running game and OL are just as terrible as last year. They said they would focus on improving there, but obviously they haven't.

:ermm:we've had 190 yards agianst UGA and 213 against MSU big improvement by the beef eaters up front moving people of the line.

Any vitriol involved in the debate should not be directed at Dooley.

When he was hired, not only was the football program in complete shambles, it was also under the direction of Mike Hamilton. That was a double whammy in regards to the hire.

There is no reason to hate Dooley for being in over his head. There is also no reason to heap excessive praise him for improving a situation that could only get better. In reality, we can all hope that the divorce is amicable. I wish Dooley all the luck in the world.

He got workers comp for that. I heard he slipped in the shower while giving scrubbing lessons. TIFWIW.
Cool, I just didn't want another situation like the time we bought Kiff breast implants only to have him leave us for Big Sexy.

Can we all agree that Dooley sort of set himself up for this sh*tstorm with his comments before the season?

"No excuses."
"You won't have Tennessee to kick around anymore."

A point that some people refuse to acknowledge when trying to defend him.

There are no excuses. 3 yrs into any program, less a disaster, should show some results, not moral victories. I find it impossible, after a 1-10 SEC run that anyone could support staying with him.

What people are scared of is starting over again. Well, i dont think it can be any worse than staying the course. Hell not much difference between 0-11 and 1-10 in my book. JMO

You Dooley droolers kill me. I like Dooley but he is not good enough to beat the SEC power houses year in and out. All time losing record. Thats a fact. So i support my Vols and most of the coaches on staff but Dooley is not the guy if we want championships. Look at stats look at history...this is not complicated
