I could be wrong, but I think the reports of his injury might have been exaggerated. I think he's still playing. His mom is saying on twitter that he's still playing. Maybe some Bama fans were just toying with us. Could be wrong though.

Based on what? Roster, yes. We have improved in some areas & we have gotten worse in some areas.

The overall results of the games. Instead of getting blew out after half we have fought all the way to the end. So the only thing that has not improved is the record.

Yea the defense is worse, but the offense is better. Special teams are better, except for the kicking game(which I think has improve slightly). Coaching is not the reason we are losing games. We have been in every game this year just have not made the plays we needed to to win.

Top 15 isn't an A. Are we using some kind of curved grading scale?

Our roster is still pretty average. We are in on some big names right now, but you can't tell me our current class is anywhere close to an A.

Out of 125 division 1 schools that is top 10 or 12 percent. He gets an A, imo.

SCe and Arky have zero SEC titles between them. UGA also pulls in top 5-10 classes.

USCjr has won 9, 11, & so far 6 games over the past 3 years. They played in the SEC title game 2 years ago.

Arkansas has won 8, 10, 11, & were ranked in the top 10 going into this season. They went to a BCS bowl 2 years ago.

5-7, 6-7, 6-7, 5-7, 3-3. Yet we are bringing in top 15 classes..hell we are lucky we are even doing that w/ the past 5 years.

Also, didn't know NSD was today.
The circumstances around the program have nothing to do with whether or not a class is an A or not. If that were the case, give Vandy's class last year a 100.

I said current class so I'm not sure what kind of point you're trying to make about NSD.

What's funny is that everyone knew that catching up to the SEC "elite" would take time bc of not only our depleted roster but because of the 25 new player max that the SEC imposed yet logic goes out the window because we are now competitively competing in games to the point where we EXPECT to win again.

Ppl forget that comments by commentators such as Herbstreit and those clowns on CBS saying weekly that we just didn't have the athletes to compete or keep up.

Let me go to the gym.

Once again, top 15 isn't anything special to me. The circumstances around the program have nothing to do with whether or not a class is an A or not. If that were the case, give Vandy's class last year a 100.

Then your standards are set beyond realistic w/ the shape the program was in over the past 5 years.

You are really wasting your time trying to reason with him.

OCI if we finish 7-5 in the regular season, how do you think recruiting will pan out?

If we finish 7-5, win the bowl game & stay competitive against Alabama/USCjr then I feel confident in saying Dooley will bring in another top 15 class.

What he truly needs though is bring in a difference maker on defense. At least 2 of them IMO. We need more playmakers.

Thanks guys. For the record, not that it matters, I feel Dooley should only be fired if a homerun type hire replaces him. ie long shot Gruden. It would be kind of pointless to hire anything else.

There isnt that much difference in top 15 classes when you look at them 3 years later.

The main thing is finding solid players that are 3 stars to go along with your hand full of 4 and 5 stars

What specifically (other than talent) has improved in the last 3 years? In my opinion, our talent is the only reason we have been getting close in these games, not because they are well coached.

We have improved in very facet of the game.

We consistently compete and are in position to win against teams with superior talent.

We have beat every team we should beat (minus UK). I don't make excuses for that.

We have discipline and heart throughout the team that hasn't been in our program in a long, long time.

We have laid a good foundation for the future. Top 15 classes despite being a dumpster fire of a program with no instate talent to speak of.

All the signs of true progress are there if you are willing to step away from our own disappointment as UT fans for the past decade. Things are going in the right direction on every front. Firing the coach that has turned this program around both in spirit and in talent based upon literally a couple select plays in which our players (especially our all everything players) which did not make plays is just moronic. If we do so, we deserve everything we have coming to us as a fanbase.

Really? Because I'm seeing a major difference.

Take pretty much any top 15 class

and they will usually have 3 or 4 draftees

the depth in them is what is important.

which coaches can find "diamonds in the rough"

Look at how many classes below lane kiffins class turned out to be WAY better than that one.

rankings are pretty much pointless.
