QBs arent the only position on a football roster. Tampa Bay has been cheap outside of Vincent Jackson.

I'm talking about Gruden's effectiveness in coaching college. I agree TB is cheap like the Titans

That Wes Rucker stated Gruden was contacted 3 years ago and he was interested but the price tag was prohibitive.

Rucker isn't the greatest source, he was one of the main reasons I left 247, but thats what the Gruden thread is about.

Money wasn't the issue last time with Gruden - at least not the major issue.

It was who his boss would be.

I also dont get why so many think Gruden would be a home run hire - he has 3 years of college coaching experience - his system was known to be incredibly complex at the NFL level so one would think that would be very difficult to implement in college - we dont know how he would recruit - and his last job in the NFL ended poorly - that team got worse the longer he stayed

I'm just not sold on Gruden.I think if we wait until the last couple of games to announce that CDD is being let go, we can start the process early start talking to some proven coaches and hire someone right after the season is over and hopefully save our recruiting class or improve it. JMO and its not an exact way of doing it just throwing it out there.

If we can get who we want and they are not coaching, we can get them in place if needbe very quickly, even before the end of the season if nessesary to start recruiting, but not coaching.

Dooley can still change this the next couple weeks.
