Dooley Called in for 6pm meeting tonight?

I heard a few things about a meeting too. Apparently, Dooley canceled on Hart claiming he had to have an emergency Dr. visit due to increased pain in hip.

Meeting rescheduled for 6:30 am on Tuesday. My impression from the guy who told me this was that Dooley will be here next year unless Hart gets interest from a big name. Sean Payton's name has apparently been mentioned.

No doubt. Our job is definitely more appealing than coaching the Saints and Brees.

I get the impression there is more going on under the surface with Payton's situation, the Saints and the NFL. Apparently the dust has not yet settled.

Not buying it. Dude is getting his chance against Bama. A win like that secures your job.

You are joking I hope. We can play Bama 1oo games, starting today and not come close to winning one. Maybe, if the first and second teams catch the flu and gonorrhea both - maybe.

We had LSU beat & actually went to a bowl game. We lost to Kentucky in year 2. Year 3 will be even worse as the wheels fall off.

Exactly! How are people questioning this? Despite losing by 14 to UF it's the most competitive we've been with them for all 4 quarters in his tenure, we were tied with SC for awhile when they went to ATL, had LSU beat as you pointed out and obviously had a bowl game won that we were cheated out of. He was 2 seconds from being 8-5, and hasn't sniffed that since.

maybe by a drunk booster.

I think it's funny that people talk about Dooley inheriting a mess at UT yet his best & most competitive team was in year 1.

NO...that is not correct...We were 2-6 after 8 games...Lost to Oregon in a blowout, Fla, UGA, LSU (shoulda won), Alabama, and USCe.

Beat UT Martin, UAB in 2 OTs, Memphis, Ole Sis, Candy, and KY. Lost to UNC in bowl game.....

:salute:

We'd already be moaning and groaning about how Gruden isn't getting it turned around fast enough!!!

Oh bull. We moan and groan because we have a coach who has NEVER, EVER been successful as a head coach...taking us nowhere. If we had a coach with a history of success, we would at least have a track record to believe that he can get it done. Dont kid yourself.

Were you more excited about UT football in year 1, 2 or 3 under Dooley?

If we lose to Bama and SCar, we'll be 3-5 after 8 games, with the difference being that we beat NCSU instead of losing to Oregon. Also, this year's team played at Miss. State instead of at LSU. If we end up 1 win better this year than in 2010, the schedule will have a lot to do with it. So far, 2010 is Dooley's best season.

So, instead we might pull 7 wins against NCSU, Georgia State, Akron, Troy, Missouri, Vandy, and UK. I'm not seeing the improvement.

As I see it, Mr SweeneyT is correct. 2010 was not exactly a banner year for UT football, but it was the 'pinnacle' of Dooley's achievements here: 3 of his 4 wins in the SEC came that year. Last year we went 1-7 in the SEC, sat out the bowl season. This year we're 0-3 in the SEC; with an 0-5 staring us in the face. We were not good his first year, and have only gotten worse.

I laughed.

It makes me sick to think about how competitive we were under Kiffin. Pete Carroll really screwed up our program.

Completely agree. Your point is not opinion but an absolute fact that cannot be disputed by a reasonable person. UT has gotten progressively worse under Dooley. I actually believe we have better players now...which makes it worse.
