Then he is not as elite as we think. AJ Green and Julio got the same treatment and still got theirs and then some.

Oh really? Aj green only had over 100 yards against one sec team in 09 and that was against a terrible auburn defense.

Julio jones had the most dominant rushing attack in the nation that include a heisman winning back

He isn't timid at all

I think JH11 is a great ball player, and he will be an excellent receiver.

However, he didn't catch a ball last night on 3rd down that would have been a 20+ yard gain because he completely shied away from contact.

He didn't extend his arms to catch the pass over his shoulder. The ball hit him in both hands, and he seized up his shoulders like he was scared of getting hit.

I don't think it's possible to argue that he wasn't playing somewhat timid.

Exactly my point

Read my next post. More than 1 way to be dominant. I love Hunter, but he's dropped a boatload of passes this year. He will go pro on potential and hopefully a great 2nd half of a season.

Last night, perfect pass, into double or triple coverage... off the hands.

Listen, I'm out of this conversations because I'm pissed about the game, and if I keep trying to prove my point, y'all gonna say I think Hunter is overrated or no good or something. This other fella talks about how players recover from ACL injuries after a year, but calls me crazy when I mention Marlin Lane's struggles. One way street only I guess. Whatever. I stand by my statements. Peace. :hi:
Hunter didn't drop one pass last night

Yea one okay makes you timid even though this entire year he has been going up against 2 to 3 dbs and knocking the ball out if their hands and going up with them. Makes a lot of sense

Its a proven fact that players coming off of ACL surgery are timid the next year. they are not as aggressive. not the whole year but some of it yes.

If you're taking about the corner pass, he would have gotten killed if he tried to catch it. Very few college receivers would have caught that and if they did, that ball was coming out after the hit.

So he didn't try to catch it? Because he was about to get hit? (Hmmm, that sounds like timidity)

A drop is a drop, and you can't speculate on what might have happened. Many college players would have tried to catch it, and they would have been layed out. I want my receivers to try and catch the ball when it hits them in the hands.

In the NFL that is where your money is made. A ton of receivers in the league and in college make catches across the middle that are just as dangerous.

I think Hunter is a really good receiver, and I want him to have great stats and rack up TD's. When he does that, we have a better chance to win, but saying that he didn't have a drop, when he did is just not true. Then making excuses for the drop, because it was a drop, doesn't change anything.

Again, I guess we will judge hunter off one play, even though he has gone up with 3 defenders in numerous games and saved bray from certain picks.

No they wouldn't. Not in college. You don't see a lot either. You can't compare nfl to college.

He didn't drop one single pass last night

Keep telling yourself Hunter isn't ready for the NFL because he drops a couple of passes like every single receiver does.

Never said that. I am critiquing his production on the field this year, as well as projecting that he may not be the #1 receiver in the nation.

Incidentally, I just watched the NC State Offensive plays, since I am obsessed, and we discussed this eariler. :)

Hunter has one pass stripped by a DB.

Hunter has another one on the goal line that is between a drop and a strip, but we'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Hunter has a clear drop, right between the numbers on a short 4th down conversion.

I would call that one drop and a couple of good defensive plays. I believe in later games, it will get worse. I'll see if I have time to watch those at some point.
