IF we do replace Dooley, I hope the guy we hire retains Graham, Pittman, & Hinshaw.

Our run game has made significant strides, especially the past 2 games. Our OL is mauling people right now & our RB's are running a lot better & decisive, especially Neal. Hinshaw is a big time recruitier also.

I agree. Possibly Palermo as well.

Wasn't Graham hire to a longer deal than the other assistants? I agree with Pittman and Hinshaw. I believe this OL is as good as any in the country.

I don't think so.

Coiner & Chaneys contract runs up at the end of this season.

Hinshaw, Graham, Pittman, Palmero, Conklin, & Ansleys run out after next seasons.

Dooleys & Sunseris runs through the 2014 season, I theirs actually runs out after NSD 2015.

Do you think Hunter is mailing it in so to speak? Is he playing it safe in anticipation of getting drafted?

I'm not sure. I hope he isn't mailing it in. That shows up on tape. He would have a high projection and fall on draft day. Isn't a good thing to put out on the job market.

I said this earlier. Justin Hunter is not mentally ready for the NFL. He just isn't. All juniors need to come back because they are still raw in important areas of their game.

Edit: There is nothing wrong with being raw at these areas given the experience they have.

Hunter is easily ready for the NFL. He will have an Aj Green type impact in the NFL next year.

He has a future NFL QB throwing to him in one of the most explosive offenses in the SEC. Averaging 54 yards per game vs. SEC opponents while dropping an estimated 22% of the balls that hit you in both hands does not excite me, IMO. I don't care what Kiper says. His production is not there at the moment.

He is coming off ACL surgery. Still Timid in taking big hits. And I think Kiper and Mcshays opinions on talent mean a lot when it comes to drafts.

Of course their opinions mean something. They are professionals. I am telling you what the stats are saying. We all know he has big play potential, but he doesn't cash that in enough. Enough has been made of his ACL recovery. It is healed. The timidity is in his mind, and that is admittedly part of the problem. The NFL does not cure that, it compounds the problem by putting you against more physical, better players, every day.

Everyone knows that the year after ACL surgery is a downyear. At any position. Next year after he is a top15pick he will be back to balling.

Maybe thats because every team double teams him. UGA did it, UF did it, and Miss State did it. Unlike last year where every single play was designed for Rogers, its not like that this year. Chaney will go to someone else instead of planning every play to one player. Hunter's presence has made the run game way better, and allows CP, Rogers, and Rivera breathing room. No DC will give Hunter breathing room, and when they do, Bray overthrows him or underthrows him. It happened last night too.

He has had maybe 3 drops. UGA fans said the same thing about Aj Green and his so called "drops." Every receiver is going to have a couple of drops, name me one that doesnt

He probably will be a top 15 pick. Marlin Lane still hasn't gotten over his ACL mind games in year 3. I like Hunter. I am not one to bash our players, but he is not producing at the level he should be.

Good post. But you seriously underestimate his drops. Most anyone here will back this up. I conservatively guess around 8. I think there were 2-3 vs NC State alone and we all said, "rust".

This isn't a down year for him. Every DC schemes for Hunter. Their number 1 job is to stop him. When you have a corner and safety help on you on every play, its hard to get your stats. No DC will let Hunter beat them. If it wasn't for Hunter, our offense would be average at best in the SEC. Hunter is the most important player in our offense.

Comparing Marlin Lane and Justin Hunter?

Im just saying there is always that factor of him being timid at times.

Im saying add that on top of being double teamed every play

and you cant expect huge #s

His first game back in over a year. He had a drop against UF and maybe UGA but thats it. If it wasn't for Hunter in the UF game, Bray throws 4 picks so he more than made up for that drop.

Then he is not as elite as we think. AJ Green and Julio got the same treatment and still got theirs and then some.

Last night, perfect pass, into double or triple coverage... off the hands.

Listen, I'm out of this conversations because I'm pissed about the game, and if I keep trying to prove my point, y'all gonna say I think Hunter is overrated or no good or something. This other fella talks about how players recover from ACL injuries after a year, but calls me crazy when I mention Marlin Lane's struggles. One way street only I guess. Whatever. I stand by my statements. Peace. :hi:
