Regardless of how you feel about Dooley and our current status as a football program, there's no need for that garbage on the rock.

I certainly agree. But, to an extent, CDD and the staff need to feel that pressure. They need to understand they are literally coaching for their jobs right now. Fans aren't going to hold back, and it's nothing anyone can control.

I was reading VQ last night at halftime, people started bringing up replacement names ect.. LWS seems to think Kirby Smart would be the guy Hart pin points IF Dooley was let go at the end of the season.

I get that this is the likely scenario, however...

Has anything ever happened ever to give anyone the idea Saban does not rule that program with an iron fist?

Smart may be a fantastic coach but everyone on that staff is an unknown commodity at this point.

Lynx I don't disagree but I'm sure Dooley & staff knew the pressure way before the rock was painted last night.

It's been there ever since the UK loss last year.

Jay, what are your thoughts on how the future of Jim Chaney should be handled? Also, what are your thoughts on Sal's system implementation? Is it fair to say that "growing pains" were expected, or is that, IYO, and overused excuse, at this point?

Side note: 2nd half adjustments in defense don't seem to be our downfall, at least the past 2 games.

Why so big on Kirby Smart?

Its obvious that Saban runs the Defense.

big deal he can recruit under Saban at Alabama.

I'm not huge on Kirby.

I will say this. Saban, who seems to care very little about retaining assistants, doubled his salary to keep him from leaving.

Well, Dooley is certainly feeling the pressure now. lol

Who would you like and who realistically do we have a shot at? What do you think our short list would look like?

My Realistic List

Steve Sarkisian- UW
Mike Riley Oreg ST
Josh Mcdaniels- NE Ocoord
Charlie Strong- UL
Dan Mullin-Miss ST
and Shaw from Stanford

Jim Chaney has too many "Guru" type moments.

Football is simple. run the ball, get the ball out the QBs hand and get it to your best players.

My Main issue with Coach Sal (besides lack of adjustment to alignment issues) is that he has forced the 3-4 on a team who's strengths play to a 4-3.

I know in the end, he wants to be a base 3-4 guy but you cant just plug 4-3 guys into that D and expect it to turn out okay.

I am also not a fan of not having a designated Free and Strong Safety.

those guys arent interchangeable and shouldnt be played that way.

just my :twocents:

McDaniels? That's interesting. I hadn't heard his name metioned. Not sure what I'd think of that.

The problem with Sark, Riley, and Shaw is they have all spent all, or most, of their coaching careers on the west coast. Not sure if they would be interested in coming to UT.
