Charlie Manuel did not leave Matt Stairs off the postseason roster in '08 and he turned out to be an intrical piece hitting a decisive 2 run blast in the 8th inning of the NLCS vs the Dodgers... Phils went on to win the Series. But who ever said Frediot was Manuel. That is why the man will never win a Championship. He doesn't understand the little things that inevitably play out big. At some point assuming we push past the Cards we are going to be down late.. with runners on and at that point we will need a blast. An extra bagger to clear the paths. Lyle F'ing Overbay is not that man to do so... may as well put Constanza in in that particular situation.

I figured this was the plan. Hinske and Overbay got all the pinch hit AB's in September. I guess he views Mac as his go to Lefty .

I assumed it to be deciphering between Hinske and overbay. There's no reason Juanbomb isn't safe

True. But I came to a realization that no matter how bad Hinske was, he unfortunately wasn't going anywhere. So it seemed like Fredi was dead set on Lyle for whatever reason.


Medlen will make this irrelevant, for at least this game.

For once Archer my man crush on Gattis had no role in that particular statement. I genuinely think Gattis could out-produce those two buzzards. Same for J Terd. Hell, if we want bad back up first baseman on the postseason roster we should have kept Thorman. At least he looks like he could park one 14 rows up. Hinske looks like he is next in line to get his stomach stapled.

I agree, the move makes absolutely no sense. We can switch up rosters if we win correct?
